Why is Aliena constantly adjusting her screen? Is it because she has unbound 'a' and 'd', or turn keys and absolutely refuses to keyboard turn at all?
I understand that on the whole keyboard turning is a no-no, however, it seems to me there are parts where it could come in use.
e.g. 0:43 one of the raid members goes to very low health, whilst aliena continues to adjust her screen/positioning. It seems as though this is ineffective and potentially a healing output loss.

@jason994 I recall seeing a shammy do that before but I think it's when Tirion entraps the LK in mid air that you may attack. You can try earlier though but I would save it for the fight itself of course.
You can't resurrect or release while the Lich King is channeling, but you can after Frostmourne is broken. You just get a bit of a head start on the rest of the raid who have to wait for the mass rez.

@TheSwirlyeyes It's not that bad if you 3 heal it. I'm not sure why they would 2 heal it. It's not that tight of an enrage, I do it weekly with everyone around about 11k 3 healing and we have about 40 seconds left when we kill him.

just a quick question: the shambling horror seems to be enraging some times and our off-tank got 5 hits in 2 secs during that enrage time and was killed and as i understood it this is not outhealable and should be dealt with by removing the enrage with a rogue using shiv or a hunter so my question goes as if im misunderstanding this and that it actually should be outhealed with the use of cd's like pain sup sacrifice defensive cd's from the off-tank?

@Fletzherdk They indeed do have Hellscreams Song. (HP/Healing increase/Dmg increase Buff. Look in her buff icons top left. Its the very first buff. And I can see one person with Shadowmourne which means they are in ICC25 gear easily.

Aliena, I see you posted this a few months ago, what was the buff % when you killed hard mode? We lack a disc priest--I could respec, but I generally sit first or second and our druid's moonkin gear (and skill) leaves something to be desired. Do you have any thoughts on if it's possible to run pally/druid or even to have a third healer at this stage in the game? I assume the buff is only at 5-15% in the video and so I wonder if we couldn't make up the dps of one person? What do you think?
@TheLadyCymrian We killed it at 5%, yeah. Some guilds (although very few) killed it with 3 healers at that point in time, so I'm fairly sure that right now it'd be plenty easy to bring a third healer and forfeit the extra DPS - the 15 minute time limit should be more than enough. Pally/druid might be the worst combination right now, but if the druid is good with wild growth timing and keeps his hots up for infest it might work well. We don't ever have a tree in our 10s sadly. :(

I don't think her voice is distracting at all--the only time I even take note of her specifically is when she cracks a joke or clearly forgets what she meant to say next, at which point I smile or laugh a little and continue watching. I'm an English major, have taken comm classes, and my only critique would be to speak up a bit in some spots

@Charcharblaze her job wasnt as much raid healing as it was damage mitigration, as the less damage the raid took, the less healing that had to be done anyway, as u saw there wasnt much insane aoe damage as there was minor aoe damage, wheich even a disc preist is fine to heal through. most damage during LK is either on the tanks, or on single target raid members.

I don't think anyone will agree with me, but I personally don't think fights should be this complicated. I think that they should be hard and require a lot of skill, but not so much to the point where there is so much crap going on at once that you need addons to tell you when to move, guides to tell you where to move, etc. It's just too much.
@DarkOctane Blizzard designs all boss encounters without addons in mind, so really there's no such thing as "too complicated." Also, if you paid any attention to the video... you see that the fight is repetitious, in that once you've done it so many times you'll eventually get used to what's going to happen at certain times.

If I am not mistaken, the enrage timer was beat by about 2 minutes. I haven't taken much time to do any math, and based off a lot of reading, I have taken the assumption that the 6th DPS is to make enrages like preventing a third shambling horror, or killing the valks in time during phase 2. As a guild, we have cleared 11/12 heroic but havn't put too much work into Lich King. Is there a specific reason you 6 DPS it? And if there a forum, can someone direct me to it? Thanks.
@seekergallath99 When your raid comprises of people who know what to do, the game magically becomes easy. In order to combat this when people you know arent around, inviting people of an IQ of 120 or less is adequate. Everyone knows, raids decrease your IQ by 20-30 depending on various factors such as age and sex. Therefore, it is mandatory to compensate for this loss of IQ by finding people who can answer a simple question such as "What do you put in a toaster?"
Its worth mentioning that if your raid is in dire need (and presumably if its too dangerous to stop for a flash of light, there's a decent likelihood of high raidwide damage paladins have 2 instants with short cooldowns: sacred shield and holy shock. If you've got a ret or enh shama that doesn't have any other assignment, maelstrom weapon heals and whatever that ret proc thing work too, I guess.
@jstaley02 I recorded up to 30% on a random attempt and since I didn't wanna waste the hard drive space on recording allllll attempts, I just recorded the last 30% of our winning attempt separately.

@TheLadyCymrian I never said I couldn't understand her. What I have said though is if you are a site like TankSpot putting out these kind of videos, then you need to have someone who speaks clearly so as ANYONE can understand her/him. I should not notice the voice about a video, I should notice the content of the video and the information. This girls voice distracts you from the content.
And I am also from the Midwest (not that that means anything)

@Trenaur I understand your point; I'm disagreeing with it. From the very first time I watched a video that she narrated, I've never found it to be an issue. I don't think her voice is distracting at all--the only time I even take note of her specifically is when she cracks a joke or clearly forgets what she meant to say next, at which point I smile or laugh a little and continue watching. I'm an English major, have taken comm classes, and my only critique would be to speak up a bit in some spots

@TheLadyCymrian I pick up on people's behaviors & idiosyncrasies more than most. And you don't need to be an English major to prove or disprove anything. I know people without college degrees that walk circles around people who do, and vice versa. In fact I know more "stupid" people who have a degree than those who don't.
ANYWAYS, as I've said I'm not the only one who notices this about her voice in TS videos so obviously it is an issue. This is not just me being critical...

@Charcharblaze her job wasnt as much raid healing as it was damage mitigration, as the less damage the raid took, the less healing that had to be done anyway, as u saw there wasnt much insane aoe damage as there was minor aoe damage, wheich even a disc preist is fine to heal through. most damage during LK is either on the tanks, or on single target raid members.

@HUMANHUNTER911 @Charcharblaze Wrong. My job was raid healing, as I mentioned multiple times during the video. The paladin did most of the tank healing, I kept up the raid.

@Saonserey o, i thought it was mostly damage prevention, i realized u were the raid healer, but i was just mentioning toChar that who was wondering why a disc preist was the raid healer, as they are usually mroe tank healers or support raid healers, was being used on the raid instead of ur usually holy spec as ive seen in ur other icc raid vids, why a disc preist would be preferadlbe then a more raid healer spec, i.e holy spec

I don't think anyone will agree with me, but I personally don't think fights should be this complicated. I think that they should be hard and require a lot of skill, but not so much to the point where there is so much crap going on at once that you need addons to tell you when to move, guides to tell you where to move, etc. It's just too much.

@DarkOctane Blizzard designs all boss encounters without addons in mind, so really there's no such thing as "too complicated." Also, if you paid any attention to the video... you see that the fight is repetitious, in that once you've done it so many times you'll eventually get used to what's going to happen at certain times.

I don't like to watch videos that only suggest taking one class over others. To me personally, weak players are the only ones who say specific classes are needed for encounters. Not saying anyone is weak here. Just saying all fights can be done with any mix. But with 80k MT, 70K OT, and 30K DPS (like in the video) I could pretty much go pickup my dry cleaning during the fight.

If I am not mistaken, the enrage timer was beat by about 2 minutes. I haven't taken much time to do any math, and based off a lot of reading, I have taken the assumption that the 6th DPS is to make enrages like preventing a third shambling horror, or killing the valks in time during phase 2. As a guild, we have cleared 11/12 heroic but havn't put too much work into Lich King. Is there a specific reason you 6 DPS it? And if there a forum, can someone direct me to it? Thanks.

@seekergallath99 When your raid comprises of people who know what to do, the game magically becomes easy. In order to combat this when people you know arent around, inviting people of an IQ of 120 or less is adequate. Everyone knows, raids decrease your IQ by 20-30 depending on various factors such as age and sex. Therefore, it is mandatory to compensate for this loss of IQ by finding people who can answer a simple question such as "What do you put in a toaster?"

Its worth mentioning that if your raid is in dire need (and presumably if its too dangerous to stop for a flash of light, there's a decent likelihood of high raidwide damage paladins have 2 instants with short cooldowns: sacred shield and holy shock. If you've got a ret or enh shama that doesn't have any other assignment, maelstrom weapon heals and whatever that ret proc thing work too, I guess.

i noticed the video is from 2 different attempts, i assume thats cos at atempt 30 when u lost 2 in the throne room the dmg buff he gets caused a wipe?

@jstaley02 I recorded up to 30% on a random attempt and since I didn't wanna waste the hard drive space on recording allllll attempts, I just recorded the last 30% of our winning attempt separately.

@gamerunknown its because its about 1500 dmg every second for the entirity of the room phase, not including any dead spirit falling on someones head.
basically, paladins are crucial for the immense tank dmg/bubblesac/aura mastery, but useless for the frostmourne room healing wise :)

of the subject of the Lich king would a paly healer be required for ICC as i nthe guild im in just lost one of the best healers in the server and we dont have any more paly healers

@Gamezonemachinima Its not required but it makes stuff alot easier in there, but if your other healers are good you should be fine. :)
