@22Angst No more than a few hundred pound would have seen it back on the road, but it was only bought mainly for it's engine, which now lives on in a much older and cooler Volvo so I fail to see how the 'stupid is as stupid does' comment is relevant? Personally, I see it as quite a smart move on my friends part, buy a Volvo for £200 that the seller was struggling to sell due to it not being roadworthy, remove the engine, wiring looms and ECU's......

@TheJmsmurphy187 It was a bit of a shame as it was solid, I think all it needed was a rear exhaust silencer, a windscreen and a n/s/r door 1/4 glass. No MOT when my mate bought it hence was very cheap which made it perfect for donating it's engine and a couple other bits.

Yea, still. This video clip speaks volumes about the strength of any Volvo. Either the claw didn't get a good enough grip, or Volvo designed it with a really tough outer skin. Also, it's rare to see a Volvo without a sunrooof. But hey, at least you saved the engine, transmission & wheels. Also, why do you refer to this as a donor car?
@Gordon302 It was stupidly tough, we tried hitting the roof with a sledgehammer, it just bounced off and scuffed the paint slightly, didn't really do any harm to it. We refer to it as a donor car because that's all it was, it was only bought for the engine, wiring loom and a few other parts.
