If you play softball and you are having trouble hitting straight, it is most likely because you are bringing your arm across your body. Practice brushing your thumb on the hand you are hitting with, along the side of your right thigh (if you are right handed) after you contact the ball, this will redirect your fallow through, correcting your swing!
@brucewayne81995 look, i dont know anything about your volleyball skills, but the way my coach taught me is the way pretty much everyone in england ive seen playing does it. (my coach coaches super 8 teams) plus its quicker to take 3 steps than 4. just saying...
to shoot bow and arrow. This is the correct mid air beginning swing position. You'll notice even he doesn't do any of the things he explains on the ground including his "J" follow through LOL, when he actually attempts his pathetic hit. Your follow through should actually end on the opposite side of your body from your hitting arm if done properly. Also he shows a three step approach, which is normally only done when hitting a "quick" set.His approach is also only good for a left hand hitter
@brucewayne81995 i play outside and middle for south east england, and your supposed to come of the net and take your 3 steps regardless what position your hitting from, just sayin...
@avv3s0m3 Is that supposed to mean something that you play middle and outside for a no name club, and your coach told you the wrong way to "Transition". That's what it's called when you "come of the net". For outsides, the proper footwork, unless hitting a "quick" as I explained before is 4 off and 4 back. For opposites, the best proven footwork, unless hitting a quick is 5 off and 4 back. For middles, if transitioning from blocking left or middle, the proper footwork is 3 off and 3 back.
@brucewayne81995 my club is ashcombe dorking, although there arent enough of us to actually play games, so we just train, but i played for the south east of england at the interreigonals this year in middle and outside. For outside (right handed) you come off the net, then on the setters contact, you place your left foot, at the peak you take the last two steps very quickly, jumping and landing on both feet, middle is simmilar, but fast and you jump just after the setter contacts the ball (ish)
@avv3s0m3 Look dude, if you want to limit yourself to a 3 step transition and a 3 step approach no matter what the position or situation, then be my guest, just don't get on here and say it's the right way. Your way will work, just like the idiot's who made this video will work. It's just not the "best proven way". I watched some of your game film, and from the little I saw, you all start your approachs too close. You sacrifice power and ability to adjust to "off sets" your way, but whatever...
@avv3s0m3 Lastly, I don't care what all of England does. Since when were they known for anything volleyball. Just watch a couple top Brazilian or American matches, and watch how far back the outsides start their approaches and the # of steps taken in different circumstances, and then keep doing it your "england super 8 coach's" (whatever that is) way, and keep being mediocre. Just sayin......
@brucewayne81995 whatever mate. i cant help being born somewhere where volleyball is hated. plus what video?! i wasnt film at kettering. you got the wrong guy
@brucewayne81995 one more thing, if your so high and mighty, who do you play for? im proud of how far ive got in the 8 months ive been playing, i dont care what you think
@avv3s0m3 Oh, you need credentials do you? Well I happen to have been the official ball pumper and out caller for the 6 time champion team of south east Rwanda. My coach is a former extremely super dooper 8 coach, and everyone in Rwanda plays on their hands and spikes with their feet, so I know It's the right way. I've been playing for 8 days and am completely impressed with how good I am, so I'm not going to consider any other methods, so there. Just sayin...
the platform. Find a wall to hit against if you must practice by yourself as you will get a much more "gamelike" return on the ball, for both setting and passing drills. Then his hitting video: there is no need to get your lead arm that high nor any need to reach back and act like your pulling out some arrows from a quiver LOL. That is not a natural movement and will just take up valuable time and will throw your timing off. The bow and arrow technique is simulating a pulled back ready to
straight up. He shows "catching" the ball at about the chin/neck level. You would get called for a carry in any venue with that set. When he passes, he "bobs"(a terrible habit to try to break) before every contact and uses his legs exclusively, something that used to be taught to beginners but is now avoided as it is almost impossible to change later on. The proper way is to use slight arm swing if needed (which almost never is) and stay low and just "direct the ball by changing the angle of
Please, please, please, do not listen to this fool. Every one of his videos teach terrible form and improper techniques, which if learned and utilized can be very difficult to change. Just as SOME examples (there are many more), in his passing and setting video, he doesn't explain anything about footwork, something that is key to both. He also shows to start out high then come down then go up like "superman". No need. Simply shape the ball, start directly above forehead, and extend arms
i dont need help in vollyball but i saw this vid and decided to watch it the one problem i have is that it was mostly chippy.. maybe u should consider putting the camera on a small table

@brucewayne81995 i would have to do it with a setter to work it out in my head cause we dont practice fast attacks as much at ashcombe
