  • Ok when i select the round dial to extrude, I am missing the extrude tool in the pop up menu what do i do? :(

  • @beastdrome Thats odd. But you can also get to the extrude tool by going to the "Structure" menu at the top. The extrude tool will be listed in the drop down menu.

  • @ShepperdOneill I figured it out! I didnt have the polygon tool selected... :\ So now it works! Thanks for help mate.

  • @beastdrome

    You can also press 'D'

  • Where the fuck is Line Mode?

  • Why can't I choose convex????

  • Thanks to you I'm learning! :D

  • "alright, that looks pretty good" ^^ you repeated yourself there a little :D

  • @fuerchter lol Yeah, I gotta stop doing that. Bad habit. lol

  • @ShepperdOneill by the way...which ways of modelling would you recommend. i thought, if you are in a situation, in which you can think of an object, you should do box modelling (or how that was called) and if you have e.g. blueprints you should do point to point?

  • @fuerchter Point to point is pretty good for blueprints (for cars, etc), but with the ability to extrude edges in C4D, its even easier now.

Box modeling is good for certain things (like phones and small devices). Most of the work I do professionally is done with box modeling.

  • I need to know how to import a plan or blueprint into c4d so I can use it to model with.

  • @saleem5027 When you're in the different views, (front side, top, etc) press shift+V on your keyboard. That will bring up the attributes for that view. Select the "Back" tab, and you can browse for the image to use. It will then show up in the background.

Another way is to use your blueprint as a texture and apply it to a plane object. Then you would set up a bunch of planes (side, top, front, rear) in the scene.

  • at the part at 5:31 when i move those points up, the lines in the whole mp3-player got with them and curve, instead of it just moving that line. what do i do?

  • @darkfire1017 Is there any way you can show me a screen shot of the problem you're having?

  • @ShepperdOneill

    Yes i got a screen 4 u

i56.tinypic (dot) com (slash) rgwk0l (slash) jpg

  • @MrSamm0 It looks like you're in Isoline editing mode.

Go up to the top and click "Tools", then click "Use Isoline editing". That will get you out of that mode.

  • @darkfire1017 I'm having the same problem! Did you solve it? can you tell me how?

  • @egiptpyramid a good alternative is to creat another cub with hypernurbs

and just add it onto the screen

obvioulsy wont look as good but better then nothing :/

  • you're a very good tutor u remind me of andrew kramer in teaching adobe after effects ... keep it up .... thank you :-))

  • @2TrickYProductions Are you in line mode? Did you make the object editable?

  • Never tried it with points before.

  • You can put your object in a hypernurn and it will round the edges as well, but you'll probably have to make some adjustments, as the hypernurb will really round things out.

  • YOUR GREAT!!

  • thank you for the tutorial it's one of the best i've seen, but at 5:34 i get lost. on my comp the lines for the mp3 player screen are curved because of the hypernurb, why are yours strait? what am i doing wrong? it's driving me banannas

  • If im understanding your problem correctly, it sounds like you are in a different modeling mode.

Hit alt+a to see what that does. That will change the mode (isoline editing).

  • one of the best tutorials for cinema 4d !! keep them coming :)

  • Really,those tutorials are awesome!

  • great tuts, great speaking voice.

  • Good Work!

  • Thanks. Ill have the 3rd part coming soon.
