Why is everybody applauding while the national anthem is being sang? At the very least shut up and face the flag, save the applauding for afterwards. Show a little respect... and Jim Cornelison does an excellent job at signing...

@rrb4kids it's a hawks tradition. watch any hawks home game's national anthem and the crowd applauds and makes noise during the entire song. it's pretty awesome in person.

Is it possible that Wayne Messmer will sing the anthem at the Winter Classic and come back to the Blackhawks for good after that? It might be tough if he still has a stake in the Wolves, but it's time for everyone to move on since Dollar Bill has descended into Hell and Rocky helped bring Pat Foley back.

You know, the more I listen to him, the more I don't like the way he sings the National Anthem. He tries to hard, and by the time he reaches "land of the free", he's exhausted his voice. No matter who sings the National Anthem in the United Center you will never be able to sing over the crowd, so I don't understand why he tries to. But even though I don't like his singing that's not going to stop me from cheering as loud as I can, because that's our anthem.
