  • Thanks Adam, I've been trying to learn this one and I havent been able to get it just yet... Just out of curiosity, how many video cameras have you broken knocking them over like that lol ;-D

  • Hey adam is it still the same crack wen u start in front?

  • Thank you for this video! I was trying to learn this crack (I'd heard it called the overhand crack) and it WOULD NOT work. It turns out I was making the exact mistake you demonstrated. Now I know what to fix!

  • im 5 foot 9 and i have a 9 foot whip is it to big for me??/

  • @nickdize512 i don't think so i'm about the same height as you and i have a whip that's 10 ft :D

  • My 6 year old son is just starting whip cracking, he's loving these clips

  • im 11 can any body tell me wich is best in geniral for me 6 foot or 8 foot

  • you should make your own short Adam Jones video.

  • I'm afraid to attempt this crack any more after having a few bad experiences with it...

  • @TyrantBB Heh, I've developed a funny jump sidewards when I throw the whip forwards to stop it whacking me. Looks kinda funny I'd guess but it works, the whip cracks and I don't whack myself any more :-)

  • i want a bull whip how much would one cost??

  • @aliceonceagain4life I bought a nylon one cause they are cheaper and can get wet. I got my nylon for about $100 which is considered really cheap. 8 footer

  • Can you do this with any bull whip?

  • This crack is complicated for me. Its all about timing.....

  • I have just gotten into whip cracking, so about how much would a cow hide 8 foot cost?

    Thanks

  • @johndeereboy508 $100-$200 for one that's actually meant for cracking

  • @AdamCWM thank you sir is there a way we could talk through message in like the inbox thing?

  • @johndeereboy508 I'm better at answering email through my website.

  • @AdamCWM Whats your e-mail?

  • YES!!! thank you Adam! thanks to you and this video i went and started practicing, withing 15 or so tries i had this crach down to a science! thanks! my problem was that was was not bringing the whip up the the "floaty" point befor i flicked it! once i fixed that i can do this thing now! thanks!

  • thanks for makin these videos as a new whip maker i like to learn new tricks...randy

  • id like to see you use your whip to grab on something and then swing on it like indiana jones.of course i dont wanna see you get hurt so take the percautions.was never sure it is possible to do or not.

  • Adam

Thanks for this FREE video, I can now perform this whipcrack! But I need to practice on the under hand flick.

    Mr. Suede

  • Whats the whip called

  • the belmont way!

  • nice to see there's folk out there that still know stuff

  • The sound of a whip crack never gets old

    =)

  • i have a leather whip and i cant get it to crack please help

  • you have no eyebrows.

  • @frankie8toes

He burned them off with his fire whips. =)

  • you have no balls.

  • Your endings are excellent!

  • @TheHyde55 thats what she said

  • It looks like a snake about to strike while coming forward...Part's horizontal, out in front of you, part curves up and back, then the end curves back up and forward, like its head. Then it cracks, and that only ADDS to the effect.

  • Forgive the posting under Williamjosephauthor. That is my 10 year old son, who quite creatively made a 8-10 foot whip braided with three pieces of folded duct tape. Although it doesn't snap real well, it is very creative. He loves the Winrich whip and Adam's videos. Don't worry, I'll get him a real whip, that or we'll upgrade to some better material like spaghetti.

  • Oh SNAP, the end was hella great, lol!!!

Although... I would have worried I'd break the cam lens when it fell, hahahah

  • timeworp :)

  • I tried this crack alot of times with a duct tape whip(the only thing i have) and i can't do it

  • u need a better whip or your not pausing enough

  • duct tape whips are not so good for cracking, try t use better materials

  • BECAUSE YOU ARE USING A HORRIBLE WHIP, get a freaking good whip or don't waste your time on this sport

  • Awesome ending, though I sorta cringed because I like to coddle all of my tech. ._.

  • dang your a hass

  • hey could you make a more detailed video for the underhand and the side crack? im sure im not the only one :) your videos are great, i got the cattleman's crack and the overhead thanks to you :D much respect and praise adam!

  • can you elaborate more on the underhand flick? I'm not quite getting it...

  • a good whip for 21 bucks? whered u get it from?

  • gday cobber i work as a drover in aussie i was woundering whots the best whip make u can think of ? i use a 8 ft david morgen

  • Did you ever break a camera by pulling it over like that? Thanks really helped!

  • Its kinda a funny touch to the video...I tried it once and right when the camera came down and hit the ground the battery popped out and effectively killed the camera.. Sadly when I reviewed the video that I filmed, The last 15 seconds was lost. Its a shame because I had made some really good cracks on my new whip I was tying to film... As far as my camera's fate, It survived and still works perfectly.

  • I just thought of this, you can add a stick extension to the bottom of you camera facing forward, that way when it hits the ground it hits the stick, not the cam, and then the camera can plop sideways to the ground.

  • i just got a 10 ft leather bullwhip and im trying to get the flick right... i have studied this video closlly and i have practiced for hours and i just cant get it to crack... are there any common mistakes i could be making or problems with my whip that u can think of that would be causing this, thank u

  • For a 10 ft leather bullwhip, I'd say if you spent less than $200 on it and got it off of Ebay, chances are it's not a very good whip, and that would be what's giving you problems. Other than that, another technique to try is lay the whip behind you, and punch it straight forward, punching it at a target.

  • it was more then 200$ and i ordered it from a store... but when u say punch it would that be under or over? thanks for taking the time to look at my questions

  • Punch over the top, or on the side. With the underhand, it's kind of like bowling, and give the whip a flick with your wrist as you lift it. Also, the flick is not an easy crack to get at all, so the more practice, the better

  • ok... i think the main problem may be that the cracker needs to be replaced... how would i go about that?

  • I have a 8 ft bullwhip that I having the same problem. I can get it to crack using a sideways flick but the overhand flick seems to be giving me issues. I can get it once in a while..The underhand flick seems to work for me just fine as well.

  • i practiced with a 10 footer for about 2 weeks before learning the flick... i was surprised how such a simple looking crack could be so tough to get down... what helped me the most was making sure i threw the whip back hard enough - the straighter and tighter the whip is when stretched straight back, the better it will crack.... dont literally THROW it back but make sure u give it enough momentum to get it straight back and right when it gets to that suspended spot like adam says, throw it :)

  • Adam, thank you for these videos. After 10 years i've finally been able to put aside the money to start buying some quality whips and these videos have begun to teach me a lot about how to use one. I've mastered the over head crack and am working on several of your other moves. Will this DVD you're making involve whip maintenance too? I'm a little fuzzy still on how to replace a Whip's "fall" and I know I'll have to deal with it sooner or later.

  • how do you do the underhand flick

  • AWESOME video....love all your vids, thsy've taught me several new crack combinations

  • wow did you mean to hit your camera? anyway do you know how to make bullwhips? if you do pleas show an easy way how to. all the ones i have tried suck

  • how many plait is that whip maybe 10? cuz i just ordered a 8ft 10 plait bullwhip and i want to see what im gonna a get and also does the plait affect the performence or anything about the whip

  • the more plaits , the more fluid motion the whip has, ..to a point. May favorite (that I just made) is a 12 plait, 7 foot..LOVE it..

  • do you sell whips

  • i make whips.....my latest is a 7 foot , 12 plait...i could send you a pic of it through e-mail

  • that would be awesome thx!

  • If my cracker breaks, is there an easy way to replace the cracker or do I need to buy a new whip?

  • You can get new crackers , or make your own, they can be changed in about 3 mins.

  • Great video. I can already see what I am doing wrong when I try this crack.

  • mr winrich your the best of the best!

  • hey adam is the flick possible with a 12 foot whip cus i have been tryng all day and cant seem to get it

  • this is my favorite crack but i like doing the side crack more you can hit more things

  • nice vid´s! i like the end when you grabbed the camera!

  • is that a 10 foot whip?

  • no he said in the video 8 foot whip

  • Thanks for the guide. But is didn't really understand the Underhand Flick. Could you please explin it abit further in a future video?

  • Adam, great video, two quick questions. (10 is that a 12 plait or 16 plait bullwhip and (2) is it a nylon, poly or kevlar cracker on taht whip.

  • And that crack is why they use David Morgans for Indiana jones... mmm...

  • alright i'll keep on trying, thanks

  • hey adam, i have a four plait stock whip (very good whip i think for the price =) and can't get any crack with the flick. do i need a whip that has a natural curve or finer plaiting?

  • adam when are you going to be taking orders im thniking of buying one before christmas

  • i ment the david moragan whips sorry.on a scale of 1 to 10 what would the whips be? thanks

    BidM142

  • Hello Adam!

I've been watching your videos for some time now and have learned a great deal from you. I have several questions though. Could you explain the difference between holding the whip with the natural curve and holding the whip against the natural curve? And also, which way do you hold the whip when you crack it?

    Thanks, Orsidire

  • where do you get your whips ?

  • it was very cool i love your videos and wich to be just as god like you your biggest fan

    R.M.B.

  • Nice video Adam.

    I am 14 years old. I have a 10 foot 12p indiana bullwhipand i can't crack my whip very well,is there a solution?

  • I'm also a 14 year old whip beginner, but I have a 6 foot bullwhip and an 8 foot bullwhip. I also tell you to just PRACTICE! it helps.

  • Adam, I cannot for the life of me get this whipcrack down...I'm pretty sure I have the motions right...I was working on them today to get the right ones...it seems like sometimes I can make it almost crack, it makes a soft sound like if i used more power it would crack but then I use more power and it doesn't. Is there a possibility that this certain crack doesn't work well with less expensive whips???

  • [I replied to The Cattleman's Crack vid in this same format. I will be using it frequently on these vids]

You did a great job on this video.

Pros: Very informative, very straight forward, easy to understand, awsome looking whip, and good quality of picture and sound.

    Cons: None

Questions for You: Would you say that it is easier for a shorter person to use a shorter whip rather than a longer whip or does it make any difference?

    5 stars; My Favorites

  • Adam:

Hello, I'm Alex from Tampico city, Mexico :), I really admire you man :)

Ok... there's the problem... I have a brand new bullwhip... and I'm learning how to crack it, thru your videos... but, it doesn't crack :S it doesn't make a sound... what can I do? there's nothing who can help me here in this town... bullwhipcracking is not a well-known sport here :S

    Expecting an answer :)

    Good luck! :P

  • Once again another great video that is both highly informative and very entertaining! You show all of the basics in how to do these cracks and that is one of the best things about your videos. The other good points is that the video quality is really nice so you don't have to kill your eyes trying to focus on what you are doing and the sound quality is very good which gives that nice CRACK and good voice audio for you.

    Keep up the Good Work

  • hi. you seem like the best person to ask this,so,im thinkin of getting a roo hide bullwhip. what length do you suggest? thanks

  • great tecnique and great personality!

  • I learn so much from your amazing videos. keep up the good work!!!!!!

  • I have made some bullwhips myself, but haven't really cracked them much before, just the cattleman's crack to test them. After watching your excellent videos, however, I have begun to try out different cracks with them. Really a lot of fun, and a good workout (and it probably scares the neighbours too). :) Cracking effort, Adam! Cheers!

BTW, the forward flick is deceptively easy looking when you do it. I haven't quite worked out the first part yet, so I start with the whip laid out behind me.

  • oh

    thank you =]

  • That's nearly impossible with a stockwhip! ;)

  • gday mate youve taught me lots so far but i have a stockwhip 4plait (im from aus) and was wonderin if there is any major differnece between crackin a bullwhip and a stockwhip? i seem to be able to get most of your basic techniques (after a while!) but yer just a general question. keep up the good work!

  • can you please make a video on the sidearm crack and underhand crack

  • i love your videos i have gotten most of the cracks sofar

but just being curiose why is your left hand always held up and out when your cracking =p

  • that was a good video with a fun ending

  • can someone tell me the difference between this whip crack and the cattleman crack..

  • ohh thanks, and you are right, i already own 2 bullwhips, by jrzjoe (seems its famous so you know him eh lol) i would like a David Morgan but its a little expensive for me right now, could you tell me what are the problems with the jrzjoe´s bullwhips? thanks a lot for the advice

  • Adam, awesome videos, really, it really helps me to learn the techniques of the whip cracking, you are my master lol

just wanted to ask about the flick crack, i´m using a 14 feet bullwhip, and i just cant get to do the flick, what advice you give me?

  • Great stuff, Adam! I love your videos and find them to be very useful. I gave you 5 stars, any chance you could explain the underhand flick in more depth?

  • love the ending!!!

  • Thats what i was gonna say O_O!! AWESOME! I cant wait to try this one out!

  • cool stuf!

  • Haha best ending of all!

This must be the coolest crack "genre" possible (along with the sidearm and that under-hand one).

    Regards, Rafael.

  • Thanks Adam,

I purchased my whip from Bernie and have been studying his video including the 20 second of the flick ( he calls it the forward throw). Seeing the motions in your video from multiple angles is a big help in understanding the kinematics required.

P.S. Thanks for watching out for the back of my head.

    Regards

    RSH

  • Hahahaha loved the ending.

  • 5/5 for me

  • Adam, that was the best ending to any whip video I've seen.
