I don't get why there is people complaining about the look of the car, it's supposed to be a street legal GT racing car... Do you also complain about the engineers that developed the GT3R Hybrid, because it has a spoiler?! Sure it is not as elegant as the stock 997 but on the racetrack there probably is a few seconds between them. If you are not driving races then get a stock one, but don't complain about the looks of totally reasonable features of a race car...

I loved the Porsche I owned. I had a 1971 Porsche 911S and it was the most eerily-handled car I've ever owned. Like, it was crazy as hell with all the weight in the back, but I had been driving Bugs for years so I knew just how much to let off on overcrests to not spin out, make sure I took inside/outside/inside corners all the time. But it only takes a little bit of front tire slip and you're all over the place.
