  • Cozy apartment :)

  • how do you bake cuppies if there's no oven :(

  • How much is it?

  • Living in Korea was one of the most tumultuous experiences of my life. There's no ovens, bathtubs, and Yanks are more compatible with the Brits by far over the lot of you. Live how you want to live though -- your standards are apparently low. Kudos to that.

  • And who are you employed by?? What company?

  • It's not sanitary to take your shoes off in a house. Think about it for a moment.

  • your so lucky you live in korea! im so jealous!!!

  • This is infinitely nicer than our place up in Seoul! Looks wonderful.

  • GOD, I AM SO FUCKING SICK OF HEARING "NOBODY" FROM WONDERBRATS ON ALMOST EVERY YOUTUBE VIDEOS THAT SHOWS KOREA!!!!!!! I HOPE WONDERBRATS WILL ALL DIE!!!!!!!

  • oh, you are leaving in Jugong apartment, yeah? 21 pyung? I wish I can show my mom's apartment. Jugong apt is made by city, so the actual size is smaller than other apt constructed by companies.

No offense, but showing this apartment will make people think that the "regular korean apartment" is very small :-p

  • LOL my apartment in Korea was only one big room,,as big as the kitchen and living room area of this one. Communal bathroom, that landlady kept cleaned. It had toilet and small bathtub ( I mean knees in the face) I took my shower on post.

  • Is that expensive? It looks much nicer than other Korean apartment videos I have seen.

  • I am american and I was raised taking off our shoes, our house had carpet. My husband is Mexican and he wears his shoes inside the house, he never goes barefoot...drives me crazy...however, we have sort of compromised. Our upstairs had carpet so no one is allowed upstairs with shoes. As far as downstairs we have all marble, so if people dont get the hint to take off their shoes I am okay with it. My husband and I both take off our street shoes and I go barefoot, while he wears slippers.

  • actually the no oven thing is not only in Korea. lots of places in Asia are like that like Taiwan

  • hi there, how much are you paying monthly for that place?

  • Big apartment...bigger than the one I was using in Tokyo....thanks for sharing

  • I'm American and I have house slippers by the front door just like Koreans. My mother also never allowed shoes. Some Americans have signs on their front door that say "Welcome. Please Remove Your Shoes."

Thanks so much for sharing this video. For a Korean apartment that is a good size. What a cute kitty too.

  • wow it seemed like your husband popped out of nowhere but very cute apartment with the xmas decorations

  • wearing shoes in YOUR HOUSE is like HAVING ALL THE DIRT AND GERMS RIGHT THERE ON UR COUCH :)))))) deeeeuh!!!! DISGUSTING!!!!!!

  • Canadians always take there shoes off at the door? And you where the special shoes in the bathroom too? Canadians truly are freaks

  • @gozimus ummm its called being clean dirty americans >.>

  • @gozimus wow how ignorant is your comment? that's just the way they wanna live, so what?

  • I actually think that Americans are the only people who wear their shoes in their house, in Canada we don't wear our shoes in the house

  • Probably depends on the household. My mother never let me wear shoes in the house either, and I'm American.

  • @sarahjeanne18 I wasn't allowed in the house and I'm American too.

  • @sarahjeanne18 moving to korea in june with my boyfriend thanks soooo much for this video :-) do you mind me asking you which recruiter you used?

  • @sutefanii09 rofl

  • @sutefanii09 No. I'm Mexican American and I when I go back to my parent's home country everyone wears shoes because middle class homes usually have concrete floors or tiled floors. The floor retains a lot of heat or it gets really cold or dusty. Here in the U.S. I don't wear shoes though.

  • @sutefanii09 most people in america take our shoes off inside homes we however do not put our shoes away

  • @sutefanii09 I am American and no one is allowed to wear shoes in my house. I have house slippers by the front door. A lot of Americans have signs on their doors that says "Welcome. Please remove shoes"

  • @sutefanii09 some times but when were in canada we some times where shoes in the house only if in hurry!

  • @sutefanii09 Yeah right. Your inexperience tells me your just a yank hater. Surprise, surprise. Atleast we contribute to the world. Stupid dolt. Here at home in the U.S. we take our shoes off at the door when it's been snowing or muddy out.

You're just jealous since we have a liberal president, and you have an excruciatingly conservative one.

YOu're the worst little brothers a country could have. Little Mans syndrome the majority of you seem to suffer from.

  • wtf r u talking about .. im korean and we never say those stupid things

  • Great song:) !!!

    Like your apartment :)

  • i like it itsz really cute

  • cool apartment...really annoying song

  • it's huge!! so lucky!

  • That seems really big for a Korean apartment.

  • It's big for a teacher's apartment, but that's only because two teachers are living there. They combined our apartment allowance so we could have a 2 bedroom. *^^*

  • Tres genial, parole d'honneur, souhetes il n'y avais sans aucun musique mais

  • How do you bake cakes and things ? i couldn't survive without an oven :(

  • We don't! If we need a cake, we go to Paris Baguette or Tous Le Jour (popular bakeries here). I'm looking forward to having a full sized oven again!

  • in south korea........

  • those stoves are not exclusive in Korea. The japanese apartments have them as well.

  • Yea, what I meant was that it was unique compared with the US, but it does sound like I was saying they only have them in Korea. I'm certainly not claiming to be an expert on all countries - I've only lived in US, Canada, and Korea! Thanks for clearing it up.

  • I think you misunderstood me. I meant it would take several years to become fluent, but I haven't been studying it that long, so I can only speak basic Korean so far.

Thanks for your kind comments. May Jehovah God bless you.

  • another question, are you guys able to speak Korean and read Hangul now? :)

    hehe :DD

sorry for the questions if i am annoying lol, it's just very interesting! :DD

  • Ask as many questions as you like! :) Learning to read Hangeul is very easy - I learned the basics in about 2 days before I even came here. Learning the language, on the other hand, is more of a challenge, but definately worthwhile! I took about 6 months of classes, along with everyday life, and now I can speak basic Korean. It would take years to become fluent!

  • Wow only a year? :DD

I will master it someday hehe. For Kim Joon (Boys Over Flower Woo Bin :) ) . <3 the music too, Wonder Girls ^^

how fast hehe, you guys are really good :D

i hope you both the best in South Korea :)

and many good blessings upon you from God. Good health insha'Allah (God willingly).

    Salam :) (Peace)

  • question, are you guys living there? or studying or what? hehe

    cute apartment :)

  • We're teaching English at a foreign language high school. :) and Thanks!

  • aaawe you guys are so lucky, you get to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world :)

I'm jelous, but insha'Allah I will go there too :)

It's very good you are english teachers there. Koreans really need them (not being racist). I know alot of koreans that want to learn english, it's good more people (teachers) like you guys are helping Koreans out :)

  • Did you live in any other cities before Suwon? I will be in Pyeongtaek in September. Any feedback?

  • I lived in Anyang last year. Sorry, I don't know anything about Pyeongtaek. But I do know that you're in for an awesome adventure!

  • your intro is wrong...u need to buy ur own oven!!!

  • I didn't mean that no one owned ovens, some people do buy them these days, as the country gets more westernized. Although most of my Korean friends only use them for reheating things and baking sweet potatoes!

  • LoL sweet potatoes! You're absolutely right though =D But I think they're delicious... Do you ride a bike? I noticed several helmets in the beginning.

  • My husband drives a scooter, and I ride on the back. ^&^

  • well it's kind of wrong in the way that they have the same thing in japan so it isn't exactly uniquely Korean. other than that thanks for the vid ^^

  • Hey!

LOVE THE WONDER GIRLS! HOW CAN I GET YOU TO RECOMMEND ME?

  • Sorry...recommend you for what?

  • Hi, i wanted to know more about the area you're currently living in because im about to move to suwon as well in the summer and take on a high school job. I think i will be situated in either yeongtong/youngtong or pal dal. If would be helpful if you are you living in one of those districts and have some insight...

  • I'd love to tell you about Suwon. Why don't you check out the video I made about Suwon, and then message me with any other questions you have. What, specifically, are you wondering about?

  • wonderful videos from a wonderful girl!

    ^^

  • You had me singing the entire time :D

  • :D Gotta love the Wondergirls!

  • Nice place; I'm hoping to take a job where I can travel.

I read on the State Department's website about a warning to ESL teachers in Korea. Apparently alot of blackmail and scams going on. Have you seen any evidence of that?

  • No, I haven't seen anything like that in 1 1/2 years. However, you should always ask for an email address from a current or former teacher to ask how they were treated, before you sign a contract.

  • cozy!

  • in a couple years Im going to live in korean!! which i cant wait any longer. Im only going there because Im going to learn how to speak, read, and write in korean. becaue that would be pretty patheic since im korean.

Would you consider that the bill payment for a apt expensive?

  • If you are going to live alone, and have a smaller apartment, it will definately be cheaper. We pay more because we're in an apartment complex, not a small building.

  • Thanks for your video. My husband and I will possibly be moving there in July...is this the typical 2 bedroom apt? Where do you work?

  • I guess this apt is pretty typical...we live in an older building though. It all depends on your neighborhood. Schools have a set amount they plan to spend, and that goes farther in some neighborhoods than in others. Last year, the school we were with gave us a one bedroom apt, with a separate kitchen. Single teachers usually get a one room apt. We're in Suwon.

  • How much is your utility bill a month? How much do each of you save of your salary in percentage?

  • Our bills are about W200,000/mo, because we live in an apartment complex in which we pay for a doorman, recycling, upkeep, ect. Last year we lived in a small villa, and only paid W70,000! If you're coming as a single, you'll probably get the smaller apartment building and less bills.

We easily save 50% of our salary, or more if we're extra thrifty. However, I have friends who party everynight, and don't save much at all. So it depends on you. Let me know if you have other questions.

  • lol wonder girls - nobody

  • wow your apartment is huge for an ESL teacher

  • Yea, that's because my husband and I both work here, so our apartment allowance is combined.

  • OMG

    Wonder Girls-Nobody!

    Love that song

and i like you korean apartment

  • MIKMA WAS HERE

  • Welcome back!

OMG I have the exactly the same kitchen cupboard design and also exactly the same chair as you do.

  • Thanks so much, skippyXG. That's funny. As for the chair, we both have good taste. :P
