All that is needed to start a fire in this club is for one of it's guest to carelessly dispose the sparkler, like dropping it into a rubbish bin full of inflammable materials. That is why nightclubs are dangerous places; your life is actually dependent on many people behaving in a responsible manner. And that is most of the time not going to happen when liquor, cigarettes, sparklers, pyrotechnics & people having a good time are involved.
I have a question, not to take away from the tragedy of this..prayers to everyone involved...
My question is. Are safety iconcerns in establishments out there more laid back? I mean, thats a whole lot of drunk people in one building holding sparklers. even if there was no concern of a fire burning down the place. wouldn't there be a concern for someone accidentally burning someone else? I think thats a valid question. wouldn't know where else to ask it.
every government around the world should just force each city to have it's inspectors go to each nightclub and if they don't have enough marked exits then it's closed down right away
of course if they fix it up they should be allowed to reopen
Thai people dont think about consequences or safety ever. I've been in there and other clubs in Bangkok on event nights and they pack too many ppl in. so i tend to stay clear. But there isn't 1 fire exit.. there is the main exit thent he whole of the back wall is doors, there is the exit to the side that leads backstage too. not enough i know but people saying 1 exit.. if there was the toll wud have been more.
the fire DID NOT start during (or right after)the count down... it started about half past midnight... this footage was taken during the countdown itself...
@cooldude91801 I just can't begin to imagine the horror of watching as flames race towards the ceiling as you realize you just have SECONDS to save your life!!!
What made them think it was a good idea to light up sparklers inside that place!!!

my teacher was there when he used to be a cop he said 103 people died...or 102 I forget which
omymisaki 1 year ago
O_O using so much of fireworks indoors was really a bad idea. Safety comes first. no offense :( so many wouldn't have died

I can't believe they thought that wasn't going to end in disaster - look at the number of 1000° sparklers!
WildSkiesUK 3 years ago
It was a perfect storm of disaster. Sparklers, hard liquor, party decoration materials, party dress, 1 emergency exit.
cooldude91801 3 years ago
It wasn't the sparklers, it was the fireworks let off by the next set.
aroundtheworls 3 years ago
it's kinda silly to fire fireworks in the club where is not open-air place..
mengpat 3 years ago 5
The management must have been smooking crack to let club goers holding fire crackers in their hands.
The crasiest part the theme of the party was called "Goodbye Santika" and their in house band was called "BURN".
