It appears you have removed the emergency shaft disconnect. Or at the very least removed the lever that controls it. This would be dangerous if the drum every caught your body or clothes, etc.
This looks like a nice mod but appears to circumvent a safety feature.
Hi there, I know your probably getting bored of this, but, any chance of letting me know what parts you used, how you did it etc. Also where, if anywhere did you relocate the retro handle to? O.K. , so it dosen't work on jinmas, but you gota have one! Im getting frustrated with all the down time cos the knuckle keeps breaking.

I just bought one of these chippers FEB 2011, and it says on it model 8 and it has this universal joint drive shaft like in this video as standard.

The safety cover and emergency disconnect were removed for demonstration purposes only. They were reinstalled and remain fully functional.

Replaced the original knub-type driveshaft with a standard u-joint driveshaft.
