@FallOfTheSun Shup up, moron. Joe Bonamassa is nowhere near being done with what he will do musically. Joe is simply in another league. Let the kid be himself. His chops hav a lot of growth left to be polished and smooth. But he is definitely on his way!
I hate all these comparisons where well meaning doofs compare a young and rising talent to a living or dead legend. It isn't fair to any one of them.
quinn will eventually learn that a song has a beginning a middle and an end, he is young/ A CHILD and has a sugarrush in this vid (this is an old vid by the way), he will start to eventually connect with the stories behind the music eventually, once he has good musicians who can guide him and tell him to slow down and LISTEN, 90% of this music is listening and 10% is playin. He will gain alot of experience, and learn to complement what he hears. Keep on pickin young man.
@blueeyedbluesman I have confidence that he will learn it all, probably sooner than most others would have. When you stop to think that, at his age, he shouldn't even have the slightest idea how to play the blues based on his ten years of happy kidhood...but he's doing it anyway! His woman never poured him kerosene when he asked for whiskey, he never shot a man in Reno just to watch him die, he never lost his rider to a brown-eyed handsome man...none of the usual qualifications at all. :-)
Hm I mean he's really awesome, but he definitely needs to learn about silence in a song and not just go all crazy and solo all the time. He's pretty young though, so he'll get there. Buddy was definitely trying to add something of his own to the song but Quinn kinda stopped him. But yeah he's awesome and will learn how to share a blues song in time.
the kid is good he just hs to learn about brother hood in the blues but he is just a kid but he is a good guitar player and i know buddy. buddy was trying to put something in but the kid would not let him but the kid will learn less is more but he was playing there for a reason so nice anyway and enjoyable.
i dont think there was a part in that song where quinn played a slow, grinding solo like mostblues players, it seems like hes mostly into the flash instead of feeling the song and what hes playing
the kids good but he never stopped playing once...he needs to learn to weave in and out, which im sure he will in time...than again how many player..."REAL" players get to step on any type of stage with other "REAL" players?...not many, so I say kudos to him...he will mature in time...and life will teach him the real blues lessons which IMHO will only make him that much better.
For crying out loud, he's only 9. He'll learn when to sit back, and when to make that baby cry as he gets older and gains experience. If I coulda done that at his age, I woulda gone way more overboard than Quinn is.
idk about john mayer but the other two yeah....buddy is better than robert and robert isnt that great..from what i heard of him..he writes good songs though

I disagree - "the blues" is like any kind of art - writing, music, painting: sometimes you find something that you just relate to and you don't know why. ok listen you can say hes only 8 years old blah blah blah but its true... He is playin the BLUES. He hasnt lived long enough to spell emotion let alone know how to implement it in his playing. Every year this kid grows he has put more emotion in his playing. shit give him 10 years(we he is 19!!!) this kid will knock you on your ass...
maybe he plays lead over everything cuz thats what he wanted to learn to play. that what i do i find something i wana play and i learn it and play it. give the kid some slack people on here are just mad they couldnt play that good at 6
I agree with jimmyfotes, Es bueno pero necesita aprender a callarse y nunca va a ser mas que los maestros, puede ser mejor algun día pero No más, the boy is good but he must to learn to shut up, n' the masters always be the masters, not him.
I remember when I played that good at his age, and then when I got to 12, puberty stuff, then discovered girls, and then my right hand fell off, and I went blind. I don't play anymore.
lol you guys are crazy, that kid outperformed buddy guy in this vid and all the others, hands down. His tone is good, style good, timing good, and he's most likely better than all of you naysayers combined. Keep rockin lil dude, just make sure you dont die young
the young boy, just needs to let the music BREATH and under stand phrasin',needs to listen to the music some more and not himself, then he'll be alright, thats where the older heads come in to motivate, guide his talent so he is directed properly. You could play a million licks and haven't said anything yet for the night.Just listen to albert king and b.b.king,these guys play 3 notes, but you get the story, yuh dig it ;).Lookin forward to hearing much more of quinn Sullivan in the near future.
i guess the only thing i can really critique is that his tone is only OK? haha, but even that's a matter of opinion! i hope this kid stays modest and keeps in touch with what got him where he is
the kid is great!,he could let the music breath some more is all i think though, but i guess when yuh young and excited and playing amounce some of best, you wonna let it all out and show what you got.Quinn has places to good once he's under the right guidance.Well done
this kid has one thing that the other so-called prodigy don't have, and that's intensity, Buddy knows it too, thats why he's playin Legends underage and after hours.
This kid is playing onstage with Buddy Guy. All you fucks that are dissing him are either still playing in your bedrooms or still playing with yourselves.
Either aspire to be as good as this child prodigy or stfu and understand that even if you would give your left testicle as payment you will never be as good.
I think Quinn has more potential than any other prodigy that has popped up. not to take away from them. But he does have the ability to sing as well, so i seen. give him 2 more years he will be unstaoppable. once he learns what the Blues really is and what it really means, you will see the emergance of a star. As soon as he learns to put the feeling into his music....watch out!!!!!!!
Great leaping Lena!! Quinn, you are marvelous! I have never seen anybody completely blow Buddy away before. (Yes, I know, that was another video.) I am so glad to see that you are keeping the blues alive.
K. ur amazing, im wicked jealous. im 13 and i'm better then u but ur the one that actually has gigs so im not gonna be one of those people who insults u cuz inside there just jealous. it rocks!
You rock Quinn, Your parents are doing an outstanding job of supporting your music !!!! 100 Stars my guitar friend .Keep playing, I hope someday I get the chance to play with you.I'm also 9 and play the guitar. The funny thing is my name is Quin too.:)

I agree with jimmyfotes, Es bueno pero necesita aprender a callarse y nunca va a ser mas que los maestros, puede ser mejor algun día pero No más, the boy is good but he must to learn to shut up, n' the masters always be the masters, not him.
betomanlira 3 years ago
Facial expressions would be nice maybe a little John Mayer the girls would dig him he would look like hes in pain and they would want to help lol

this kid is good but he HAS TO STOP PLAYING LEAD PARTS OVER EVERYTHING
jimmyfotes 3 years ago
He got the techniqe right, lets hope the kid will someday become an artist as well.

I remember when I played that good at his age, and then when I got to 12, puberty stuff, then discovered girls, and then my right hand fell off, and I went blind. I don't play anymore.

Great but no Buddy Guy................
andrew6678 3 years ago
no shit, but can't you see that the kid is pretty goddamn amazing?
netinbra 3 years ago
lol you guys are crazy, that kid outperformed buddy guy in this vid and all the others, hands down. His tone is good, style good, timing good, and he's most likely better than all of you naysayers combined. Keep rockin lil dude, just make sure you dont die young
fenderic 3 years ago 3
Not hard to do since Buddy wasn't playing. That's his brother Phil.
ironjawz61 3 years ago
the young boy, just needs to let the music BREATH and under stand phrasin',needs to listen to the music some more and not himself, then he'll be alright, thats where the older heads come in to motivate, guide his talent so he is directed properly. You could play a million licks and haven't said anything yet for the night.Just listen to albert king and b.b.king,these guys play 3 notes, but you get the story, yuh dig it ;).Lookin forward to hearing much more of quinn Sullivan in the near future.

i guess the only thing i can really critique is that his tone is only OK? haha, but even that's a matter of opinion! i hope this kid stays modest and keeps in touch with what got him where he is
getupanddosomething 3 years ago
the kid is great!,he could let the music breath some more is all i think though, but i guess when yuh young and excited and playing amounce some of best, you wonna let it all out and show what you got.Quinn has places to good once he's under the right guidance.Well done
MrCaribbean 3 years ago
look at the lead guitarists face lol gutted.
the wee mans a legend but your right. he doesnt know when to slow it down or stop lol but fuckin hell he's got the music in him alright.

this kid has one thing that the other so-called prodigy don't have, and that's intensity, Buddy knows it too, thats why he's playin Legends underage and after hours.

jeez...all i have is a 90 dollar washburn starter set that i've been "starting" on for like, 6 years...man...
elibeli2595 3 years ago
This kid is playing onstage with Buddy Guy. All you fucks that are dissing him are either still playing in your bedrooms or still playing with yourselves.
Either aspire to be as good as this child prodigy or stfu and understand that even if you would give your left testicle as payment you will never be as good.
atlantissg1 3 years ago
Derek Trucks is the best prodigy hands down.
riles6789 3 years ago
He's an adult, therefore not a prodigy.
wes94 3 years ago
When he was 9 he was playing ( much better tha quinn) with the Allmans. Thats the prod I speak of
riles6789 3 years ago
Somebodies got to pic up the torch...
Look around the corner and watch the line grow.
Derek is the man though.....
mytheropy 3 years ago
I think Quinn has more potential than any other prodigy that has popped up. not to take away from them. But he does have the ability to sing as well, so i seen. give him 2 more years he will be unstaoppable. once he learns what the Blues really is and what it really means, you will see the emergance of a star. As soon as he learns to put the feeling into his music....watch out!!!!!!!
BIGTIME01 3 years ago
Quinn is amazing. AND very cool of Buddy to acknowledge & give him such great opportunity.
