Play it safe Pinocchio! Remember, as long as you are made of wood, the pedophiles won't look at you twice. As soon as you become anatomically correct the NAMBLA freaks will come out looking for you ! Nobody wants to F*#& furniture...Wood is good!

Thank you so much to refresh my childhood memories. I saw this TV show in National Broadcast TV from Venezuela in 1960-1961. I was a baby of 2 years and I remember these images. Obviously, it was transalated into Spanish. Thank you!
Oh my gosh...I used to watch this weekday mornings before I was even old enough for school...I'm talking 1966/67 at the latest. What a find! Thanks so much for posting this warm 'n fuzzy memory from my childhood.
It's amazing how much of this is burned in my brain- between this, the wizard of OZ and H.R. Puff n Stuff it's no wonder why we turned out so messed up!
Wow, what a flood of memories watching this brought back for me. Thanks very much for sharing it. This was one of the many great shows I watched during my childhood in the early 80's. This was a real treat to be able to see this again!
Dollar Tree stores in the Oregon area have had Coffee Crisp bars for some months now. They taste just fine and have no white "bloom" - must just be a surplus supply.
yes they still have jos louis half moons and coffee crisps. No Uncle Bobby sadly passed away 2006 Mr Dress up a few years ago the Friendly Giant a number of years ago as for polka dot door ot sure but the others are not on anymore
Remember the old "Sesame Street" counting segment with the baker who falls down the stairs? One of the "10 wind-up toys" in the segment for the number 10 is a replica Pinocchio, one of the few merchandising spin-offs for "Tales of the Wizard of Oz".
This was the first project done by Rankin-Bass. Voice talent was Canadian, because we still had (and have) radio dramas here, and they didn't (and don't) have it in the USA. Voices included Carl Banas (Cricket), Larry Mann (Foxy)& Paul Kligman (Cool Cat)---who also did voices on the legendary Rankin-Bass "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". The people who voiced Rudolph & Hermey live across the street from me now!
What a joy. Like others, I have been seeking these on video for many years. I recalled every single word of the theme song and all the instrumental flourishes, so hearing it again was no major revelation. It's exactly as I recall. Same goes for the voices. But not the stories themselves. I did get an "amateur" Tales of the Wizard of Oz DVD a few years back. Also nice! Thanks.
Here's Pinocchio what a happy lad since the day he lost his strings he can walk, and talk, and fly.
"Do anything I try."He can dance, sing a tune, play a flute. "Do anything I try." But he must never, never, never, ever, ever, ever, ever fib ever tell a lie.
This used to air on Global TV on its own and it also aired on CFTO as part of the Cartoon Playhouse with the Tales of the Wizard of Oz in the late 70s and early 80s. God Rankin Bass did a really good job with the stop motion animation.
I wasn't aware Cartoon Playhouse was still running in the 70's and '80. It originated on CFTO in the early-mid 60's long before Global started around '71 or so.

I read somewhere that these puppet scenes were made and filmed in Japan.
You have to wonder what the workers thought because few people in Japan speak English.

@Tigerboy83 They were, thus this is an anime.

Thanks for the info but unfortunately, I live in S. Florida! Oregon is a bit of a distance for me, not to mention going to Canada!

What I meant was that if our Dollar Trees have them, maybe you'd want to check yours for the same thing. You never know.
