If you're using the PSOne screen setup, then you don't need any extra stuff for audio. The PSOne screen's motherboard has everything built in: screen, brightness control, speaker/audio, volume control. You just need to wire it up the correct way to your GameCube board for power, video signal, and audio signal. Check out these forums for instructions on that:
@rapenaki Hey Gamerlolwind! Sorry (again) for taking so long to respond. We did not use the RGB signal. We just wired up the AV pinouts to the appropriate pin-outs on the GameCube motherboard. It's not too hard - just a few connections: L and R audio, video, power, common/ground. If you need a wiring diagram, let me know and I can point you to the one we used.
@rapenaki As for triiming, we did not trim the PSOne board - but I know there are trimming guides on the Internet. We're actually going to used the PSOne screen case (cut down a little bit) and it will be attached to the overall case we're using. It just saves us a bunch of space inside the case, which we'll need for the GameCube disk drive, anyways.
Did you finish your portable GC ? I'm making one with my son also.

Pretty nice :O
But you will have to do something about the disc drive placement or else it's gonna be huuuge.

cool!
i like your setup,
im working on my portable gc,
um do you need an audio amp for the speakers if you use the psone's?
so, you can wire the video/audio connections to the psone screen without having to trim the bottom layer off?

@kman99991 nice! thanx for the info,
im on benheck forums,
my username is Gamerlolwind, and im currently working on my zcp.
i got the psone screen on friday and im going to mod it.
um so trimming the bottom isn't required?
because you didn't do it and it worked fine. but the only reason to trim it is so it can fit in the case.

@kman99991 nice, um i have a question
about the video signal what do you use RGB or Composte?
if rgb how do you wire that up?
directly to the psone screen? without the AV cable?
