Yes the haldex from 1999 until now gives you MAX 47% power on backwheels when wheelspin at starts for example.

But all haldex's gives you only FWD when not sliding or spinning...a computers gives power to back before you feel it..its very fast.

@hitmannor1983 I take it you have never owned or seen a 4WD haldex car on a dyno then. To run a haldex controlled car on a dyno in 2WD you have to remove the fuse to the haldex or unplug the haldex system.

A4=Quattro(thorsen)

A3/S3=Syncro/4 motion(haldex)

Golf 2-6=4motion/syncro(haldex)orgi­nal that is..some1 like this video is built like Quattro.

Passat=Syncro/4motion

S4/S5=Quattro

Rs2-Rs8=Quattro

Audi 80/90/100/200=Quattro

Thorsen=4wd all the time!! 25% on each wheel at all times..when car is very stuck it changes ps/hk to diffrent wheels also

i say it again!! VAG has 2 kinds of 4x4!! one is for VW witch has Haldex system.and Audi A3 and S3!

Rest has Thorsen!!Thorsen diff gives you 4x4 all the time!

Haldex kicks in when then "computer" knows the car is loosing grip or is sliding!

this Vw golf Mk2 has Quattro with Thorsen diff.

if this was haldex it wouldent get the rear wheel to moove on a dyno!! ffs...

and to Dmmotor: LOL R32 has haldex and TT has thorsen!!

and to BobWC... LOL 4 motion IS syncro:P its the same thing dumbass..

@hitmannor1983 U know Ur stuff pretty well, but TT is haldex, Ive wanted to make my mk4 jetta a awd & the tt is the perfect parts car, but i found out it was a haldex I gave up... Dmmotor should know what went into his car, but i think his haldex controler is an hpa gen 1 controler, allowing full use of the haldex system. I dont know much bout the haldex, but U pretty much said what ive heard. I did hear that the r32/tt controler does give power under hard excell too... not sure if thats true.

Not true, you must use 4wd dyno for R32 or R36 to be accurate!

if the rear wheels were not spinning, it would get data from the wheel speed sensors in the rear saying 0mph that would be different than the >0 readings from the frotn wheels, and would send power to the rear. so your whole argument is flawed.

however, the rear can be disabled electronically with a computer to allow FWD dynoing.

@hitmannor1983 what you think happens when start running 4motion on awd dyno? TCS reads O from rear SS and engages Haldex clutches for rear wheels, it happens so fast that driver never notice it. Quattro on other hand is full time awd system, and cannot be dynod on fwd dynos, unlike 4motion that only takes to remove Haldex relay to make it fwd.

that is called HALDEX (or Synchro by VW)... it's not a quattro® (torsen centre diff).

There was a Syncro Mk3 sold in Germany so all the parts to convert your shell would be available. The 1.8T was available in the Audi S3, A3 Quattro and TT with four wheel drive.

Ive seen him bring it at the 1/8 in quebec was the fastest car there 4.5k launchs and then the quattro kicked and it was gone beat a 10.44 1/4 el camino a s10 350 supercharged a number of other cars its fast and he knows how to drive
