There are a lot of singers who can hit ZP's pitches (and much higher) and are still singing, despite having been singing for longer than him. The main point about ZP's voice is, of course, his natural tone, which is phenomenal. He's a seriously good singer, but there are a lot of those - the really important part is that he's got a naturally good voice to boot.

Sam Totman of Dragonforce was originally in Powerquest, whilst in Powerquest he formed a side project (Dragonforce) and got ZP as a singer, he then got ZP to sing the 2 demo tracks for Powerquest. This was all before Alessio was a member.

So basically ZP was a temporary member, singing just for the demo, as he was already the singer for Dragonforce.

For anyone having a go at ZP's vocals, just remember, this was recorded in 2001, all vocalists evolve and get better over time, just listen to Alessio's version of this song, then go listen to Kings of Eternity, from Powerquests latest album, it almost sounds like a different person, the same goes for ZP listen to the demo of Revelations, then listen to The Warrior Inside, vocalists are constantly developing their voice, gaining more control and generally getting better.

Nobody likes bands just because they become mainstream. There are plenty of terrible bands in the mainstream nowadays, just look at the iTunes top 10. People like a band because it's good music, yet they might have only known about it because it was in the mainstream. Nontheless, a band still has to play good music to be "liked" by anyone, and there are no bands in the mainstream that absolutely nobody likes. So basically, they need to be good to get into the mainstream in the first place.

DragonForce was involved in the creation of Power Quest. The lead singer of DragonForce (ZP Theart) was a guest singer for some of the songs on the Wings of Forever demo album, and this is one of them. Sam Totman, DragonForce's main rhythm guitarist and main songwriter, was also in the band when the album was released. Since then, he left.

Amazing song, I love the chorus and solo.

I notice that a lot of it is very similar to some stuff from VOTD. The Chorus rising a step reminds me of Black Winter Night, the pre-solo acoustic bridge reminds me of the solo bridge in Disciples of Babylon, and the solo as it starts at 4:10 has a remarkably similar feel and structure as the solo in Where Dragons Rule.

All is great music, not that any of it sounds the same, it's just cool to find so many inspirations in one song.
