The giant shark is an obvious reference to jaws... also the obvious reference to the posiden adventure is here. The base is called posiden and its set at christmas...
Now I can't get the image of Steven Moffat hunting for sharks on a small boat with a giant harpoon on Christmas Eve out of my head. Also, he's shirtless.
@WhovianWars It was the last of the 4 2010 games. There are 4 more coming in 2011. But i'm guessing we won't be seeing them until around April at the earliest.
@tjacoolvidsdotcom You can do that, but years of PC gaming has trained me to use the WASD. I find it easier because you've got more freedom to use the rest of the keyboard with your left hand but it's down to preference.
@ash356 Oh of course, in terms of whats been seen in high budget next-gen mainstream games these visuals are really lacking. But in terms of a free PC cartoony game for young DW fans then the attention to detail is real good (in my opinion)
I won't argue they're good yeah... Damn good for a free game to be honest. But the whole game reminds me of Bioshock if i'm honest (Especially the word 'Bathysphere')
Because of that, It's kind of hard to not compare the two :/
Oswald (The main guy of the base) may not be as shallow as you picture him here. Though his delivery is weak.
He is in charge of a station now. He is responsible for everyone and he knows it. But when some guy comes and starts talking like he's in charge, it can be a bit obvious that he might loose a few logic strings. He wants everyone to be safe, but in the same time, he does not see that some weird newcomer is doing good and might find a solution... Or something. Gah. Dunno. Just my thoughts.
@eyedam I could have explained it better but i didn't want to focus on story for too long. I can see why he would be shallow to begin with, but by games end when you're pretty much clearing the base of Vashta Nerada, curing the crew-members and fixing the computer (to name just a few) he still won't listen to you. It comes across as a contrivance to move the story forward because Oswald has abandoned any form of common sense and just becomes 1 dimensional. But i see where you're coming from mate
To be fair christmas does mean sharks for me because Jaws was always shown at christmas and for a time that was my favourite film, even the christmas before last I remember watching 'live great white shark cage diving' on some obscure cable channel whilst waiting for the family to wake. Plus isn't there something wonderfully absurd about the aquatic beast hunting amid the festive season, Jaws 4 starts there. epic review otherwise
I got lost in those tunnels :( because they all look the same and also I'll never be able to complete that card collection thing because I can't be bothered to look around each level and find them, the levels are too big for that. How ever I did enjoy completing this game and the vasha was kinda scary... but yeah... they should have moved faster. Good game though :D
Yeah that's a bit weird! He's got a shark in the Xmas Special and in this... That's using an idea that isn't even old. Why not make a non - past villian/monster game? A Timelord one would've been GREAT! Or..... even a Multi Doctor game? 11th meets 7th? Ace meets Amy Pond?

The vista's may be impressive for a game of that calibre, but if you've played Bioshock, you've probably seen better :/
I suppose it's Ok though, but it really isn't my type of thing...Namely as I also have a problem with sharks and Christmas :L
