The greatest thing about this game is that you don't need to play online to get a kick out of it... My friend and I used to set up a LAN and play with bots and it was still awesome, mainly because you could set up everything from bot numbers, friendly:enemy ratios and bot skill... Ah, Good times..

This makes me almost wish that the version of BF1942 that I got back in 2003 wasn't a pirate copy so I could actually play it. I say "almost" because I binge enough on Team Fortress 2 as it is.

Not too many players these days. There are a lot of servers, but most are empty. I'm not sure how much longer the game will remain active...

From what I've seen there are about 950 players during peak hours, 300 at any other time.

While most servers are empty, there are enough active servers that you won't have trouble finding a game or trying to get away from certain players. It seems all servers have a good map rotation to them as well.
