alright, i just started driving manuel transmission cars, im 17, can someone explain to me what "heel toe turning" is because i dont really understand it
(maybe he is not a drifter) but if he was, then we would enjoy a better heel-toe driving style.
anyway am not hating tho its just my opinion based on racing experience i have which i picked-up from the streets of california first and now driving for a professional crue. but i wish a road like this was near me
@blade8079 true i agree with yu however, this been a nice video i admit, the driving skills were still little low, I have the same car, tunned-up and yet i could feel not only he was holding back, the shift points were not even near to perfect meaning that the heel-toe was used at a none needed point of rev, and yet i could count some very nice curves left-out perfect for drifting.
1. I am not racer. 2. I am not drifter. 3. I am not showman 4. I want to drive safely (this is public road without safe margins) and dont know this road at all. 5. I have no money as I wanted to learn pro driving skills. 6. all my videos is enthusiast level. 7. heel toe is used to facilitate the work clutch/flywheel/engine and for smoother ride.
@folerx agree .......................yet let me say that i like the video and considering the point 1. 2. and 3 from your comment, i beleivee you can take it farther if yu wish. your driving is cool and listening to the engine from the video yu sound like a smooth driver as well. which confirms your point 7. about the smooth ride. however, if yu get the chance, try getting more from that Heel Toe driving style and you'll see how much it can do beside the smooth ride.
@folerx Rev matching is used for a smoother ride which is accomplished by heel toeing. Heel toeing allows you to brake while downshift. This cutting your braking distance as a racing technique. However it can be employed on the street like you did. Nice vid by the way.
@PLAYmorePAINTBALL I definitely agree with Playmore... here. when he says that . Heel toeing allows you to brake while downshift. This cutting your braking distance as a racing technique and most importantly keeps up your time by saving on the engine accel reuptake by keepin RPM with in the perfect range but just remember that shift points are not always the same. you have to feel it, as your eyes are to be kept on the road.
@salemely Dude what are you talking about, im not part of this conversation but how are the drivers skills low. You sound like a rice burner, cause there the only ones who come on youtube and start criticing all ths shit. This was spirited driving, not a hot lap. Of cours ethe heel toe wasn't executed to perfection, it says hes learnign in the description. And what do you mean he didn't do it in the right rev range? You dont gotta hit red line cause your not on a race track. Y
@PLAYmorePAINTBALL waww man you are upset. i mean hey just listen to yourself, you say he is learning, which is good as i have learned it too but if i see that someone is also trying to learn, the least to do is give advice i was given when i used to be at that level. YET NO ONE HAS TO TAKE MY ADVICE. so its up to the learner. and as you say if the HT technik is used just for a smooth ride, why bother when you can simply drive like grand mother!!!!!! much smoother and no havy G-force.
this is the best driving video on youtube, bar-none. is there a resonator with this decat set-up? can you give us a web link where we can find this? thanks.
no resonator, only double "lastovcic" ventury decat pipes. This is reason for rasp sound. This decat makes +10nm on dyno test and have -13kg than oem cat. My previous decat supersprint 784302 loose power and cost 3x more!!! Exhaust maker "Lastovcic" here in Croatia make some very good product. find "lastovcic" in google. tnx for comment
I go to track sometimes. Yes, driving on track is much better, with more feeling for car, and of course much safer. But here is traffic very low and I drive much bellow limits (especially limits of the car).
Lol.. excellent vid.. I love the HD.. Feels like i out there driving.. Anyways.. Good job on the camera angles and the footwork.. Driving of course.. Well.. Speed safe my friend..
You're doing it Wrong man...first press break along with clutch then put neutral then rev the engine then clutch again go low then release clutch...that's the way...
You should've double clutched around 8:58, your rpm was about 2k. double clutch from 5th or so to 3rd or 2nd would give you a nice rpm buildup for passing.
double clutching is useful for skipping gears on downshift 6 to 2, 5 to 2, 6 to 3 etc.
it's faster vs 6,5,4,3 single clutch downshift)
of course you can also downshift without heel-toe like rally drivers (check g. parizzi driving an evo). You just have to be careful with clutch release.
BMW has a gearbox that does not require a double clutching, like all modern cars with synchro gears. Double clutching is outdated methods that are only used in trucks. Around 8:58 I had the unpleasant situation because I started too late to brake downhill.
I don't disagree there. All modern cars do not require double clutching, but it can be beneficial in certain situations like a 5 to 2downshift or 6 to 3 downshift in one setting vs having to single clutch 6-5-4-3 or something like that. It depends on situation.
If you double clutched around 8:58 u could have 4k rpm vs 2k rpm , which allow u to pass better and then upshift.
But here I don't have time for any shifting, only for breaking. And here I shift from 3 to 2, so I don't need double clutch. Double clutch is waste of time in comparison to heel&toe.
Nice vid man! Spirited indeed. I am learning heel and toe too. There're not too much curves here in Texas though lol, but still I managed to find some backroads to practice on.
Excellent post! 5/5. You are using the engine in the exact right way. Keeping it in the higher rev area is where this engine was designed for. This is a racing engine!
Nice video! But what is the purpose of heel toe downshifting? I know it revs up the engine so it matches the speed of the car when you downshift, but does it help reducing speed?
here is purpose to make easy life for clutch and gearbox. and this is one training for me at same time. main purpose heel toe is not reducing speed, but block car imbalance when clutch is releasing.
You are making a mistake while doing the heel/toe double clutch in the movie.
The correct way is: press clutch pedal, put gear into neutral, release the clutch pedal, give a push on the trottle to rev the engine, press clutch pedal again and go into one gear lower as before and release the clutch pedal again. Do this for every downshift (so not from 4 to 2 in one single time). In fact, if you are doing it right, you could shift from neutral into a lower gear without pressing the clutchpedal.
your method is double clutching and is not needed for modern gearboxes with syncro mechanism. look this youtube movie from 1:24 fE2xDwEYkMU . mclaren f1 tsukuba time attack
As a fellow BMW enthusiast (E30, E36, E46) and performance enthusiast (not to mention European), I have to say this is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time. Props for taking the time to make this... This video really puts you in the drivers seat. I'm sick of all these videos with no "feel" to them, your video puts them to shame. Once again, props :)
awesome vid, car sounds like sex when it is heel and toe'd ( rev on the down change), great road too, i thought u said croatian roads were a disaster :)
roads is disaster around croatian city...this roads like in movies have rare trafic and is in very good condition. Many of them is reconditioned. I will post many new movie soon.-)))

This is some fantastic driving! But that M3 won't last you too long if you keep pushing her like this!--LOL Very nice video! Thanks!

M3 is build for driving like that. I don't push engine to hard. Midle rev is around 5000rpm. From time to time you need to bleed engine.

Nice video! But what is the purpose of heel toe downshifting? I know it revs up the engine so it matches the speed of the car when you downshift, but does it help reducing speed?
fckyubth1 2 years ago
here is purpose to make easy life for clutch and gearbox. and this is one training for me at same time. main purpose heel toe is not reducing speed, but block car imbalance when clutch is releasing.

Ok thanks for your answer!
fckyubth1 2 years ago
Actually, it also allows you to downshift a lot quicker, which in racing is crucial.

Once again, props :)

syncing those four cams up must be one heck of a task!!! nice vid!

yes, because inside cameras have 29.97fps and outside cameras have 30fps. First step is convert 29.97 to 30fps. After this everything is easy.
