I suppose it's a good remix, but putting it in the new show is all wrong. The old show's theme said "Alright, let's kick some Cylon butt!" but the new show's theme is more like "We've lost, and it's only a matter of time before they find us and wipe us all out." It's much more contemporary; pessimistic and hopeless, down to the wire and living on borrowed time. You can't help but feel for these people. GOD I love this show!

As hokey as I think that Galactica TOS was now, with benefit of 20 / 20 hindsight, I still liked the theme. Seeing / hearing the 2 of them melded together is interesting, I gotta admit.

I have to say, if anything, this vid pays tribute to both versions of Battlestar Galactica- the scenes from the new and the techno-ized theme from the original. Very excellent.

I like the actual opening music. It's very appropriate to the series, I think. Battlestar galactica isn't all just fighting and such. There's a real human element, and it explores human elements. It's more like a distopia, something like 1984 or the Handmaid's tale, than an action movie. The music in this is nice, but it isn't fitting.
