    Definitely a positive thing.

  • Sounds great Ken! il get there with more practice....check out my vids for my take on blues ukulele. Il have to have a play on a Ohana, seems real nice= )

  • Thanks.

  • But...but...the ukulele is a TOY!

  • Yes, my baby grand-daughter has one. She uses it as a bat.

  • My god, if that is 'rubbish', then the adjective doesn't exist to describe me! Bravo!

  • haha. I thought it was worse than it was.

  • really really cool

  • Thank you.

  • This is BRILLIANT! Never don't say 'Rubbish' after you finish the song - you are a Master! (I've been playing my Harmonicas along with you - sounds fantastic!)

    Love and Peace!

  • Great song and playing,

Who makes that ukulele you are playing?

  • It is an Ohana TK-35G.

  • Thats a damn big Uke! Is it an alto? And whats the tuning please?

  • It's a tenor. Normal tuning: GCEA.

  • Love this song and really enjoyed your version. Lots of emotion

  • Thanks.

  • This song reminds me of my father

  • OK.

  • Lots of heros in this world; your are mine. great blues tune and work. Envy leads me to practice more. Smokin'

    Loon

  • Practice is good. Don't forget to practice things that you can't play, not just things that you can.

  • absolutely wonderful ken =) nice cover

  • Thank you.

  • Great job Ken! :)

  • Thanks Ian.

  • Ahhh just superb Ken, great feeling, and technique. Your voice sounded really good too. I thought I recognised an influence of Paul Simon maybe?

  • Paul Simon is one of my all-time favourite song-writers. I listened to him since the sixties. I must record another of his songs soon.

  • Wonderful!

  • Thanks Mary Ann.

  • Thanks.

  • Great bluesey feel Ken. You never cease to amaze me with your range. Now that I know you can blues it up with the best of them, I'd love to hear you cover Leadbelly's Where did you Sleep Last Night.

  • I take a look at it Tony, but I don't play blues too often. I may do a video on blues licks soon though. Do you think that would work?

  • That would be great. All the blues licks and riffs I know are guitar based and don't translate too well to uke.

  • OK, I'll work on it.

  • Great blues playing and really sweet singing! You've got a unique voice. I like the way you rock at the end! 5*

  • Thanks R. You've got a unique voice too.

  • fantastic! totally jealous your singing, too... what uke should I get next... i think i want something with an active pick-up.

    Any advice, Ken?

  • I don't much about ukes with pick-ups. I might look at a EleUke soon. Take a look.

  • Really nice bluesy feel. And the recording sounds great! What do you use to record?

  • I use a Zoom H2 directly via USB into Audacity. I add a little treble EQ, gverb and normalise. I then export as an MP3.

  • great song - I never really heard any Leonard Cohen till people started covering his stuff on uke lately.

  • Excellent!

  • Thanks a lot.

  • Oh uke master, where for art thou tab? :o)

  • No tab for this one, I'm afraid. Just making it up.

  • You are so versatile! Great tune. Good to see the Ohana again. I like the way it shines in the light.

  • The Ohana felt great to play in this song.

  • That was great Ken!

  • Thanks you for your support Deach.

  • you do blues so well. fantastic job Ken!

  • Thanks Russ.

  • Nice work Ken. Great blues number.

  • The original song wasn't really blues. The chord sequence seems to work quite well though.
