For the last few years for me. His music is so multi-layered in its meaning. He took it upon himself to revolutionize the emotional/spiritual consciousness of humanity. Son of sam, pretty marry k, tomorrow tomorrow and independence day. Together they comprise his mission statement. What a weight to carry. Evidently he couldn't handle it, as he had convinced himself it was meant to be, but he must have decided that he had failed, and it wasn't meant to be after all.

He certainly could have played it. He could have just played the chords. The album version actually does a kind of fade out thing like that so it was probably intentional. If it was a screw-up then it wouldn't have been the first time he's done so live.

@jlaw666 earlier in this show he says he hasn't played live in a while and I think he said he was nervous that's why he stopped playing.... if you've watched a lot of his shows you would know that it happens to elliott on occasion

Nah - he did mess up - you can hear him play a chord of dead notes, then the wrong chord, and then he looks at his guitar and just continues singing.
