  • I like the clicking noise of the sansa =)

  • design wise old clip is more sexier.. wish the funciton improved based on old design

  • creaky? your voice... tibetan dual voicebox guy

  • Nice hands; that includes the fingers.

  • i LOVE sansa cli plus!

  • Two minutes for a FULL 16G to load into an MP3 that you can nearly SWALLOW is pretty damn impressive!

I have about 100 of my old CDs on my computer and that's about 7GB.

So 2 minutes to switch between 200+ CD "chip" is pretty mind bogglingly fast!

  • DO WANT

  • Great review - just one advice:

Next time don't use the bored robot voice. ;)

  • When connected to a computer via USB, does the device show-up as a harddrive, permitting you to simply drag & drop new songs onto the device OR do you have to use some kind of interface, like iTunes with iPod products? I prefer to just drag & drop.

  • @davidemerling shows up as hard drive, drag and drop or make some folders to organize.

  • What is the quality of the songs from slot radio, and where do they come from.

    How does it work??

  • i noticed it says play all... but is there a shuffle function build in during? or is that the down button on the pad?

  • @Rawsawn it's in the options when you start playing some tracks. Press the menu key, and there's toggles for repeat and shuffle. Sorry it took a month for you to get a reply.

  • C200 vs clip+

  • @3cheers4Ger... You know you can drag multiple files at a time, right? You could potentially put every song on your clip in one drag. You don't have to copy each file individually.

  • They finally released a firmware update for this today. Initial impression is that the menus work a bit faster. Will have to see if it prevents the occasional freezing, and makes the battery display more accurate.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • That's the exact one I have and it sucks. I have 350 songs in iTunes, it only synchs 150. It took me four hours to figure out the Sansa program to begin with, and two hours to drag and drop every single song in iTunes into every single artist folder. With an iPod, it's so much easier to just synch all 350 of my songs in just minutes. But with Sansa, noooooooo. It just HAS to be complicated.

  • @3cheers4Ger poor son, if you want to use itunes buy a ipod... people buy this to drag and drop his music in it like a pen drive or hd. Learn to not buy things out of the blue. Fail it's yours

  • @alpethetribalspirit 1. I'm a GIRL. 2. I got the Sansa as a gift. 3. I find synching music onto an iPod is ten times easier than dragging EVERY single song into an MP3 player.

And I'm gonna get an iPod. It's MY choice so stfu. Most people in my school have iPods.

  • @3cheers4Ger well if you use only single mp3, clip+ is the wrongest gift ever... i'm sorry for the ones that gifted that to you because they don't know you and your preferences. Till this you have a point. But "every one has ipod" is the most stupid statement i've ever heard, so i assume that your friends overstimated you. itunes is designed to work only with apple products, and that's because people hate that. Use winamp to sync with clip. it's simple and fast almost as iTunes.

  • @alpethetribalspirit Ah. Thanks a lot for the advice. Sorry I was being a douche. Btw, I know everyone in my school and not single one of them knows what Sansa even IS. They all have iPod Touches or Nanos or Shuffles, any Apple product at all. It's just more popular.

  • @3cheers4Ger Sansa = windows Media Player =Sandisk : iPod = iTunes = Apple

  • What's the battery life like?

  • @absurdrhino 15 hours

  • monotonous, but an informative review

  • yup the new one is cool i like this and it is great that i ruturned the last beoken and baught the new one modle

  • Glad you liked it. I returned one yesterday and have the second in front of me now. Neither worked. After charging the battery, I got a screen that I couldn't change no matter which buttons I pushed. Just an icon of earphones with the word Music. No radio, no music, nothing. I guess I'll return this one, too, and look for a non-Sandisk player.

  • bleh

  • the written review is better

  • The Micro SD card will degrade the sound quality, i just noticed that today. I was previewing the same songs on my mp3 player on the xbox live zune marketplace and i noticed the bass sounded a bit but noticeably punchier and cleaner to me than in my mp3 player. I was like no way the songs on my mp3 player are 320kbps mp3. I thought that 320kbps mp3 wasnt the compressed format with the highest quality anymore, until i placed songs in my mp3s internal memory, then i noticed the difference.

  • i need help i was lisenong to music today on my mp3 i have one these and it shut off and now it just says good bye how do i fix i need help please

  • Anyone else having this problem?

I like the Clip + as an MP3 player, but my experience with the FM radio is all bad. I bought one and exchanged it twice, so I've had three of them. ALL failed to lock on the signal. When I tuned to a station it would be clear for a couple seconds, then begin to make that fffssssbffffsss sound that badly tuned FM radios make. My m230 was great. Very disappointing.

  • what the hell is a butipod?

  • Ive just shot myself!!!

  • i broke my ipod touch :( but i dont want ta buy a another one an this has a screen not as cool but much better price cuz ta get a ipod that has one is like 140 buck not that bad of a price but im stingy so sansa clip here i come hjvfnvujnv

  • @Slove4umyboolovey Punctuation. It helps people read what you're saying.

  • @DanaMConrad i broke my ipod touch :( and i don't want to get another one i just want a mp3 player that has a screen an is cheep the sansa may not be as cool as ipod but stingy is my middle name so sansa clip I'm coming for you and fuck you bitch i type what eva way i want ta type at the time

  • @DanaMConrad KISS MY ASS

  • i love this thing

  • thanks for the review it really helped. i was looking for a decent affordable mp3 player that has folder navigation and this looks like the one. i will be buying one today

  • rockboxed clip+ or nationite n2?

  • @maxnanabas09 get a Clip+ , and Rockbox it, and it will play much more then a nationite n2 will for sure, heck I can even get a Rockboxed Sansa C250 my g/f has to take a 16GB card(only sees up to 1GB cards on stock firmware), and play C64 SID, among many many other formats.

  • Unchangeable battery is a problem. I don't like the "whole unit lifetime" idea.

  • So I guess you can't change the background color on the mp3 like on another one of their models that wasn't a clip

  • i really like the clip+. it's cheap, durable, and awesome sound quality, even better than the cowon d2(!). and when you install rockbox you can play virtually any audio format available.

the only thing they could've improved is the battery life.

other than that - this player is really awesome! highly recommended.

  • Question!!! I already own the old Sansa Clip and want to buy the Sansa Clip plus for my brother. Since I have the usb from the old sansa clip will that work for the new sansa clip plus or is the port usb cord different on it?

  • @vla8806 yes it will. both have the same connector

  • Hey. Can anyone help me - I've just bought this and transferred some music over. But when I plug it into my computer the music doesn't show up int he music folder, but it plays on the mp3 player. Is there a way I can either delete everything off the player and start again or does anyone know why it's doing this? Thanks! xxx

  • @ssg21yo go to settings then system settings and then format to start over

  • I like your nails:)

  • Actually... it's a good idea to buy a 1GB model if you plan on getting a microSD expansion and if you are really on a budget. Since it's infinitely expandable. Right now you can expand them up to 32GB.

  • LOL... GB not MG :D

    Niceone!

  • Thanks very much for your upload!!!

Nearly bought the Sansa Clip without the "+" SD option before.

If it wasn't for this video I would've been 8MG down - good on ya mate!!! :)

  • hello You seem to know a lot about this gadget?.. I am old and not too clued up on technology... going through the menus it comes to a pert that says ''replay gain''

and 'mode album, song, or off'' and ''pre gain 8db'' ??? I hope you can help me? thanks

    samson07@shaw.ca...........

  • Good review.

  • I really don't think I'll have a need for the little microchip thing. why would i need that? And I would not appreciate the lack of control I'd experience with the "slot radio", I like to choose my own music and control what I here. So if I loop one particular song I'd get frustrated with slot-radio. aside from the lack of commercials, kinda pointless if you have an FM receiver anyway. And I think I kinda like the glowy light circle thing on the older clip. Maybe I won't get the "plus" afterall

  • How come no one cares about playlists? I don't like listening to albums or the artist alone... I need mix tapes :)

  • Be a little more enthusiastic, man.

  • Why Eminem?

  • A comprehensive review, helped me to make a purchase of one of these.

BUT MY GOD YOU ARE BORING

  • It looks good.

but I have 60GB of music...

    My father has over 2000GB

    XD

  • I liked this review, thanks for it.

  • Is there shuffle mode for mp3? Can you drag and drop songs or have to sync to media player? Also how us the fm receiver?

    Thanks!

  • Why would you ever need more then 1GB? You wouldn't need a memory card at all, in fact. It has at least 1GB built-in memory, and you can get 50 songs for about 250MB, a quarter of a GB. Why would you ever need more then that? 2GB at the most, but why would you need 32 gigabytes? It doesn't play video, so you'd use it for Recordings and Music? I don't see the point of wasting money on digital space you don't need.

  • @pokeplay7

I use MP3 players when working out in the gym. Usually I just load long mixes and DJ's gigs onto the player. So having 1GB at the moment gets boring after 2-3 weeks, meaning I need to upload new music every 2-3 weeks. Having 16GB or 32 GB of music would probably allow me 30-40 WEEKS of not changing the music, which I hate to do by the way (connecting to PC, looking through songs and etc.)

  • @pokeplay7 i have 4 gigs of music and my dad has over 60gigs

  • @pokeplay7 says: "Why would you ever need more then 1GB?"

Well, 1GB will get you 200 songs by your calculation. If you live in a cave and eat a peanut butter &

Pterodactyl sandwich for lunch every day, then you will probably be happy with listening to the same 200 songs over, and over.

(OK, you are probably 9 years old, so you don't know about caves and Pterodactyls, or anything other than Justin Beaver or Lady Gag Me)

For me, "Variety is the spice of life" !!

    Gimme the GB!!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • 7 people just knock their head on the keyboard.

  • @bobeichow HAHAHAHAHA

  • Play are doing this with a free 8GB card so its 16GB for £37!

  • Can someone please help me... i just got it ... and i do not know how to download music onto my mp3 player can some one help me. Thankyou :)

  • @TreyCormier1 Do you mean sync music to it? If that's the case you can use a program like Winamp.

  • @TreyCormier1 Go to Settings>System Settings>USB Mode and set it to MSC! Then you can copy folders from your pc, or drag and drop files to Sansa's Music folder.

  • Beautiful device and review, especially the name! Ordered it today =]

  • Bare sloppy Review!!

  • what about battery life?

  • The old clip looks better than the new one imo, the new one's plastic looks cheap compared to the old one.

  • Question: hows the sound quality?

purchased a sansa fuze once upon a time and took it back because it sounded HORRIBLE, sometimes in the middle of a song it would make a sound in the earphones almost like the old dial up noise, if your too young to know what that is, look up old dial up sound on youtube watch?v=X_OGkAWFm9Y (6 seconds in) THAT is the noise I would here. anyone else ever experience this issue??

  • @MrJnoman me!!! that shit broke my ear :(

  • @MrJnoman Never happened to me, and I owned one for a year before buying a Fuze+ (Bad decision), only problem I would have is the screen going white for a while

  • Jesus that review is enough to put you asleep.

  • @vuittion I love his softspoken voice. n_n

  • @vuittion

    LOL

  • @vuittion at least it's a through review, and not some cheap bimbo reading off a que-card for 1min LOL!

  • Great Mp3 player , used one for almost a year.. for casual and jogging.

the only gripe i have is the limited battery life.

it died on me when i had a long commute.. about 7 - 8 hours(mp3 and radio)

maybe cause i disable the power saving in volume too.

Maybe i retire this player to my workout mp3 -_-

  • Browse by folders FTW!

  • It reminds me on some small things you get in suprise eggs.

  • I like the way the first one looks and was gonna buy it for that but I will go for the 2 gen then ... Nice review

  • meh

  • Does/Can this player play songs at random order?

  • @iExD yeah

  • @sadzior thank you!

  • @iExD yup there is a shuffle option available

  • @EsmaelMajedi thanks. I ordered it a few days ago and got it yesterday.

  • I dont like the button-sounds every time I press the buttons...

  • please be more monotonous....

  • I have this player. I bought it at BestBuy in May I think. I was disappointed when I took it home and it didn't work, so I had to go back and return it so I could get a new one.

  • The best way to explain this near perfect piece of gear is thus... if you cried for hours on end when you realised nokia had stopped making batteries for the nokia 6310 and you knew that mean't game over for the device then you will truely understand the quality and brilliance of this piece of kit. It makes ipod anythings (and I own 4 of those in total) look archaic with it's simplisitic and bullet proof way of going about things. It is damn near perfect and it's only not because nothing can be.

  • AMAZING little player! I love the pre-recorded slot cards, and the drag and drop capability for transferring songs. Does this have the ability to display the EQ as bars while playing (jumping bars)?

  • @AudiophileTubes The original Sansa Clip did, so this will too.

  • @AudiophileTubes actually it does. press the center button while a song is playing

  • just ordered mine yesterday!!! got a 4 gig cant wait till it arives!!!

  • @duran1195alex 4 gig? Why don't you just put on a dress?

I have an 8 gig with a 32gb sd card.

  • Question: For Sansa clip+ there is 2, 4 and 8 GB. Whats the point in buying the 4 and 8 GB when you have microSD place for it??? Does anyone have logical answer for this?

  • @Atilla3 If Sandisk wants more money offering features at a higher premium is a solution. Many people are not willing to make the effort to buy a microsd card - they aren't so common as a cell phone, etc. If you're clever enough to buy a microsd card then that's your gain but some people will want more capacity to start with so Sandisk makes an extra $10+ off these people. I hope that was coherent.

@Aradena Yes, the clip+ has this feature.

  • @DanLearns Ok sounds logical but do you know anything about the access time from microSD compared to from the internal?

Because I heard that in the cameras it could be slower to access with bigger microSD compared to the internal flash or HDD? I don't know if this matters with mp3s?

  • @Atilla3 I have a 4gb clip+ and a 2gb microsd and I haven't noticed a difference in the access time once the card has loaded. If you're planning to get a 16 gb or higher than I can't speak from experience.

  • @DanLearns Ok sorry for the dumb question, microSDs seam to have different classes depending on the transfer speed.

  • Hi guys.

I have a Clip+ since June, it is not bad, but soooooooooo silent. I use EQ with manual settings (everithing is on the top) but it is sooo silent.

    Is it average?

  • Anyone know if fast-forward gets faster and faster if you keep holding >> down? My old Creative Zen does this and I like that feature - I can get quickly to sections in long recordings. Or does fast forward just go forward at the same speed all the time?

  • dude nice "THOROUGH review dude. thx abunch.

  • Fantastic audio player with the battery life being the major issue.

  • I picked one up about three weeks ago and I LOVE it! It holds a lot of music, and I decided to get the older version to hold my audio books, since 2 gigs is more than enough, but the newer version will hold all my music and more with the added card.

  • can anyone who owns a PLUS tell me if it supports pausing a song, powering off, then resuming it when powering the device back on?

My friend is looking for an mp3 player to use for audiobook (in normal mp3 format) playback. I'm looking for something uncomplicated as she is not a techie. I think the clip supports this, at least the old version of it. I just want to confirm it does.

    Thanks

  • @mwschib Yes it does.

  • I don't know why, but suddenly I wanna have the Clip+ despite his nostalgic look.

  • So if I buy a 8gb Sansa clip and add a 32gb sd card do I ill get 40gb?

  • good video enzo but you sound like you want to quit your job

  • how many hours do you guys get on a direct playback?

back in sandisk website itself there are complaints that the battery life is not so good..less than the 15 hours stated

  • does anybody know if i can hang it on my earphones? these have a little loop on wich i'm supposed to hang my mp3player, but it doesnt work with my zen.

    thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • i have the maroon version. i regret it , i want the blue one now!

  • i think i'm gonna get it soon

  • Great review. Some friends are buying me one of these for my birthday. It's taken ages for me to decide which mp3 player I want to replace a defunct cheap one.

  • @muskndusk I have one of these now. I was amazed by how small it is - really cute. So far so good.

  • @muskndusk

    i have one to

    wich color have you?

    i have red^^

and yes they really small CUTE!

  • @lover65084 Mine's blue. It's darker than it looked on Amazon. I really wanted a pink one, but I don't think they do those in the plus.

  • im mad....

water spilled on my pants... where my sansa was, and its freakin dead now...

  • Can you replace the player's battery? I have an old ipod and the only reason I haven't sold it and gotten one of these is that I can easily find replacement batteries every 1-2 years when it dies.

  • @Lavabug It takes a little bit of work. You have to take it apart and find the right battery somewhere, but you can.

  • this thing is the deal, they even did away with the damn proprietary cable! Only downside: only 15 hours runtime. Also it hasn´t got the power to drive some real headphones opposed to in-ears.

  • Just bought one of these and I gotta say - it's the fucking Bomb!!

    Just love it!

  • ill prefer how the old model looks like... the newer on looks like a peice of plastic square....-_-

  • @piggykiller77 it's more durable though.

  • can this player use a tv out cable so that i can view the sansa screen on the tv ?

  • the black sansa it's very cool

  • the normal sansa clip looks better....

  • how is the audio quality of this clip+? I'm planning to buy mp3 player with respect to audio quality..

  • @konhar11 The audio is great but the headphones that come with it are no good. I use my Sony headphones it sounds great. It also an EQ so you tweak the sound to your desire.

  • a minimalist's mp3 player!

    I'm a minimalist.. and I want one!

  • i expected this to be more like usb flash memory where you can create folders and put music. But its a bit frustrating to make the best out of this player.

  • I don't know why im watching this if i already have a clip+ lol

  • @primezero643 will the clip plus take a tv-out calble so that I can view sansa screen on tv screen? thanks

  • how's recording quality? is it similar to older sansas?

  • It is pretty good by the looks of this, great build and everything. The ONLY Downside I see. When he was scrolling through the channels of music. It looked awfully slow. Some people like me are impatient, I like to scroll fast. Especially when I'm on the move or multi-tasking. The last thing I want to encounter is slow scrolling @_@, 4/5

  • mine trun off with full batter while i was lissing to music

  • @ZeroSteel45 wat?

  • @lolcat23 hmm nothing

  • The 32gig cards are out people - this just became the smallest, cheapest 40GB flash-based player on the market!

  • @TheConciseStatement Is there any limit?

  • @RetroGamerr1991

Limit to what? Be more specific.

If you're asking about number of files, I have heard that there is, and you should probably check out the Anything but iPod forums to confirm if that's true. Apparently, replacing the firmware, by installing Rockbox might get round those sorts of problems.

  • @RetroGamerr1991

Ohhh. The context just became clear to me.

You meant limit on SDHC cards. Yeah, they just reached it - 32GB. The next standard will be SDXC, which lays down the path for newer card slots to take us from 64GB to 2TB. Don't worry, it's all backwards compatible again - all the older, smaller cards will work in the new slots.

  • @TheConciseStatement Do they support 32gig, I heard it only supports up to 16. IF it does support that then thats fucking sweet!

  • @YouKilledYourMaster

That may be because at the time of release, the biggest card available was 16GB. The roadmap for Micro SDHC, was always to take cards up to 32GB. After a long delay, those 32GB cards eventually came out and should work just fine in a Clip+.

We're now starting to see the next iteration of SD - SDXC, slots that will take even bigger cards. As far as I'm aware, only the full sized version of this exists, but hopefully players and phones with Micro SDXC slots will come soon.

  • Anyone have crackling sound when plug headphones jack into this player ? With original headphones I don't have that problem ?

  • slutradio omg this is so rascism XD

    jk slutradio ftw

  • slot...

  • Just bought one of these last week. I wanted an small MP3 player with FM radio and this was spot on. I have the 8Gb black version and paid £35. The bright OLED screen is great battery life seems very good even if you have the screen on all the time. The interface is basic can be a little "fiddely" buy addequate.

  • on what site can i download free music from for my sansa?

  • Sansa Clip + Couch Cushion = Where did I put that again?

  • does the old sansa clip take micro ds cards ?

  • @SuperBobafet No. The Sansa Clip+ is the only Clip that has a micro SD card slot.

  • No i just bought a 1 gb and a 2 gb only 2 gb and up have the plus

  • i have the same one! but black and more polished. it was on sale for 40 bucks

    lol, its so awesome!

i have like only 62 songs on it so far, but it also has like recording and stuff.

  • that was me a year, i still have my 1gb clip lol

  • Sansa makes great music players. I have a Fuze and it's amazing! I wish I can get a clip+ as a secondary device too since it's so nice.

  • did anyone hack it yet?

    the only problem for laymen

    might be that the battery´s

    "proprietary".

  • I have four different players and this is the only one u need 2 hands to turn it off and on.

  • I think that the only "sad" thing about this tiny nice player is that they have removed the "shiny" circle.

But overall this player is kickass... i mean its good to have it because it can reach up to 40 gb.

  • Does the player have to refresh the media card every time you turn it on?

  • @tkn4everb: you have to refresh it every time you pull the card out and plug it in. i think..
