Kojima gives off a subliminal message that kids who spend time playing action games increases their confidence in actually doing well in the military. The lesson that Raiden had to learn was that it is different in the battle field. As time goes by, he changes
Rose and Raiden were poorly acted..a lot of clunky line deliveries on their part. Maybe they embraced the melodrama a bit to much. Hayter, Randolph, Zimmerman and especially Paul Eiding as the AI Colonel gave great performances. Even the Dead Cell characters and Solidus were better acted.

The rest of the cast seems much more natural in the delivery of dialog. By the time MGS4 came out, Flynn was a lot better. Rosemary was about the same...

Initially I was pissed at having to play as Raiden in MGS2, but after a while I got used to him...Still wanted to play as Snake though
The only problem I ever had with him wasn't his looks, it was with his voice in MGS2, sometimes it sounded like he plugged up his nose or something :P
Wasn't as godawful as Tidus voice in FFX though and he sounded alot better in MGS4

@KazuoKiriyama666 well, I actually liked Raiden in MGS2. I thought he was an interesting contrast. And the new Metal gear "rising" is a prequel thats in between mgs2 and MGS4 that tells what happened to Raiden. From my research, it seems that he was kidnapped by the patriots and his body was experimented on just like Grey Fox, and he was reconstructed with an even better technology than Grey fox. Just play MGS rising when it comes out. Im sorry you didnt like Raiden. But some people do

@randyds5 I liked him in MGS2 far more than I did in MGS4. I never had any problems with him and felt like it was such a terrible turn on his character to be this caricature Cyborg Ninja that was all emo-ey. Terrible.

Quinton Flynn is a great actor, Raiden is dope, femimne look at all. forget if its a japanese game, ITS A DOPE GAME SAGA. props to actors and kojima's team, all the games were gr8, even the VR missions on psx.

Raiden is my Favorite MGS character by far..the MGS2 Raiden is my favorite though..idk ppl dont like him i mean hes Young..has more personality than snake (even though i love snake who doesnt) and like "crazyturtlevideos" said hes human..and hes VERY agile..hes a normal human kickin ass and causing all kinds of hell to bigshell..whats not to like?

look, just because he had long ass hair it dosen't mean he was a bad character in mgs2. I mean, for starters, he was a lot more human and had a much more personality than the walking gun we all know and love as solid snake, and besides, i thought he was a lot more emo in mgs4. I still liked him, its just i hate how most people hate him mainly just because he look slightly feminine.
