I spent most of the 25th completely denying anything. I refused to think about it not that I didn't believe he was dead but that it was too hard to think about. I was as silly as possible so I didn't have to accept it. The 26th came, and I still denied it. Here it is the 27th, and now it's sinking in, and it's really crappy, and it hurts.
As the one who called the police to check on him if he was fine and as the person who subsequently was roused from his bed by the police with the news that he was dead: it happened.

Organ failure due to a combination of chronic alcoholism, severe depression, and generally poor physical health. It just overwhelmed his body and it just shut down.
Unfortunately, it's all too true. He's passed away. I couldn't believe it either and I'm still having a bit of trouble believing it. One thing's for sure, though, he will be remembered and missed.
