Hello! I also rescued a swedish lapphund but from the streets of Bucharest Romania.. she was only a few days old and it was 3 years ago in the winter season...we didn't even know what breed she was until we search it online and found pictures of lappies.. she is adorable but unfortunately we didn't find other swedish lapphunds in Romania and we don't have a male for her... :(
@neuroleptika: I think it was an elderly woman who collected rare dogs and was not able to take care of them as time went on. The Finnish Lapphund Society (I called them) said there are very few lappies in North America, and this one probably escaped to find a better owner.
This is great. We had a FL that we rescued from a shelter in San Diego. We had him for two years and wanted to take him to the snow, but never got a chance....this is what it would have been like!
