  • love that hair

  • THAT IS NOT YANNI.

Looks recorded in a cell phone camera.

  • @manuelalbertomatias this is 100% yanni. this was the opening song on the Tribute album. catch a clue.

  • Incredible

  • wauuu jamas habia visto este video.... millones de gracias

  • i love it more than the Taj version. I love hearing the slight differences to the CD recording. it sounds more..."real"

I wish we could get access to more unreleased stuff like this. imagine how much yanni must have himself...

  • It's weird ... Why the orchestration is less sophistacted than the TAJ MAHAL ...

As if musicians were tired ...

  • It has nothing to do with them being tired. The actual album version released on Tribute was just edited, mixed, equalized, and then reverb was added and the volume turned up to give it more energy. Yanni is such a perfectionist that he ensures all the performances come across the same.

  • Indeed, I guess you're right.

However, how do you explain that Acropolis sounds so good, and his recent concerts we barely hear the orchestra ... ( Yanni live 2006 )

He's less good than before ... in my opinion ...

  • Acropolis sounded so good because that was the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the energy was like no other because that was a once in a lifetime moment for both Yanni and his band and for the orchestra.

  • Tribute sounded like it did because of a lot of editing and mixing. It was at that point that I believe Yanni's team began using synthesizers in the studio (after the concerts were recorded) as well as effects such as reverb to double with the orchestra to make it sound even bigger. That's why the Forbidden City version of "Deliverance" and the rest of the concert, which was recorded and broadcast as it was performed, sounded so dry. There was no "in-studio" post-production and editing.

  • Since the Ethnicity and Yanni Live 2004 tours (and the resulting Yanni Live DVD in 2006), you've noticed a smaller orchestra, so the synthesizer strings are used to overcompensate for the lack of musicians onstage. Yanni went from having 45 people in his orchestra (not including singers) to 22.

Even in the live show, all you can really hear is synthesizer strings until a violinist or cellist has a solo. The rest of the time it sounds electronic. It is unfortunate.

  • However, it doesn't Yanni's not good. He's just shifted focus, and the direction that he's in now doesn't please everyone.

It's just obvious to musicians who are working constantly and see the show that he is actually using playback (from a laptop) for these more recent tours. The energy from the once powerful band has now been replaced by singers and effects, and while the show is still fun and interesting, it's not the same anymore. But, change is the only constant!

  • Anyway...

    Studio makes miracles :)

I have pain for his sound engineers ...

  • Why is there only 200 views? THIS SONG IS GREAT >:(

  • Gracias por compartirlo...

  • Wow! Has anyone noticed this is longer than the version that was actually released! Yay for unedited versions!

  • great

    i love you
