I own 5th Ed Rev and lost of supplements from the 5th Ed line. I've seen 6th and, to be frank, it's not for me. About the only book in the 6th Ed line I have any interest at this point is Ultimate Base, and only for the Kingdom Rules and some other stuff I want to back-port into 5th.
Do you NEED to upgrade to 6th edition? No. Would I recommend it? Yes. It seemed to me that certain mechanics are streamlined from 5th. I mean, it's a natural progression for the system. I would say, if you are a die-hard HERO player/gm, then it would be definitely worth looking at.
Thanks for the comment and the kudos. I've been meaning to post more, but life gets in the way. I'm hoping to have more soon. Again, thanks
@HeroEvangelist - great, thanks for the comment. I have now ordered the 6th Edition Basic Rulebook to get a glimpse at some of those streamlining work and then I decide whether or not to buy the full/color version. And yes, I know how it is with life and everything... ;)
But I hope you eventually get around to post more on HERO. I will definitely be looking forward to it! Thanks again and all the best to you.
I am a huge fan of Hero, too, and I also appreciate Mr. Long's work. I own quite a lot of 5th Ed. books, as well as a lot of older Hero stuff. My issue is: do I really need the new edition? Do you think that 6th Edition is superior to 5th Revised, from a "game mechanical" point of view? Is it decidedly better? Maybe you can "enlighten" me in this matter...
Anyway - thanks for doing this video and speaking up for HERO!
