  • can it play borderlands and left 4 dead?

  • lol im in the 2012 now..

  • woah man, this shits crazy ;p

  • Can I play Swtor on it??

  • No HDMI...

  • i want in blue ^-^

  • Was this at least 64 bit?

Did it ship with Xp or Vista?

  • i like this much more than my m17x R3

  • LOL! I am using an AMD laptop with a Phenom triple core processor, costing £399 ($500). I upgraded the graphics for around £40 ($70) and it can outrun this PC all over... This is only two years on??? Wow...

  • Too bad the one piece button for the touchpad is a pieceofshit.

  • Funny thing is, someone can probably build their own laptop with just as much or more performance capability for much less.

  • @shady929 Custom built laptops are actually very rare to come by and tend to be considerably more expensive then similar prebuilt machines. Desktops on the other hand are a different story.

  • Damn this is still badass even now, Alienware rocks!!

  • Alienware is the most over priced pile of shits I have ever come in contact with.

My system (the Aurora™ m9700) worked quite nice at first....

    I've had it for... coming up to 3 years and it has lost;

    2 x Graphics Cards

    2 x Keyboards (I ha\/e no '\/' or '><' keys, or down arrow).

1 x Most of the screen (a LOT of dead pixels, a few lines down the screen)

1 x Wireless Card (Cannot connect to any wireless networks)

All that for £2K, definately worth the money.... NAWT.

  • Other than the logo, alienwares have to be the ugliest laptops ever produced

  • Sooooo old........

  • it's still got a awesome look :D

  • man,2 years ago.....

  • Back when Alienware had quality laptops. They were made by clevo at the time.

  • No HDMI? Total bummer.

  • 1.3 camera that's shit even for a gaming laptop i thought it would be better

  • no its bad dont buy m9700 but buy aline ware m17x is beteer and newer

  • @TheJoOoOoOker screen is too big has some prooblems with it as well m15 was a better buy so i heard

  • im buying one

  • just getting this for £500 mint condition it rocks considering the specs are bit dated.

a wouldnt have bught it at the time it came out for $4000 though.but its worth the £500 ive just payed, and it looks good.

also its a bit of a collecters item now not many nocking about that work. and theres plenty of parts availible just bought a new 7900 gs graphics card for £60 a bargain, as a spare

  • @mrmuddyfox why didnt yo buy the m11x for £800 instead? with double the specs, bran new.

  • Alienware sucks balls specs sucks and way to many lights and bells on it, and over priced

  • This comp sux these days, i slammed mine into the ground way to slow dont buy...

  • do you think it's worth $500 now, April, 2010? Thank You!

  • why would you pay so much money for something you can build for less than half the price....im a custom pc builder and when i see someone with one of these horribly expensive items i just laugh...and why dosent this thing have a hdmi port? my simple laptop has one lol

  • my desktop beter

  • Ha still better than allot of other labtops, my labtop I have now can't even run wow without lagging pretty bad on low graphics plus it's only 682.99

  • @tehtotaln0ob OMG I KNOW MAN I HAVE A LABTOP TOOO!!!!!!!!!111

  • cant wait to get this , idc about how old it is ,its still a good gaming laptop , wen i get the mony to get the m15x but still keep this one to

  • way to old now

  • @AlbertaCanada420 still kickin' butt just upgrade it.

  • "Be the envy of your friends with the Alienware Aurora M9700 laptop, with dual video cards in SLI mode."

More like, "dude, wth are you doing with your money"....

4000 dollars with the standard configuration.. lol.

  • Why two graphics when you only have 2,4ghz? Playing games at this must suck...

  • I have this in blue it rocks and so far? I've picked up one chick because of it

    nope! not kiddin'

  • If you only can get chicks like that,

    Then you're just ugly.

  • @Pyanapple who said only?

  • @ishredu

let's be real though she's probably a dirt nasty geek chick amiright?

  • @ishredu doubt that it was a girl worth looking at

  • @gamenerd009 believe it or not there are actually a surprising number of attractive nerdy/geeky/gamer girls.

  • @JonahMightDie cool

  • Juz bought a m15x with the highest setting

  • I prefer this over the new M17x, M15x, or M17 they sell. Why? I've had this laptop for 2 years now and it still runs Cod 4 and stuff and I dont need to spend 3 grand to replace it

  • on max?

  • Yes on Max.

  • omg i so fucking much want an alienware laptop but they dont take orders from Norway!!!!! omg cant they just add all countries in world and not usa??

  • Why do people hate the USA?

  • that easy it all the times for US ppl only, and u guys see uself ash the best nation on Eaht

  • only 2 gb of ram u call it a gaming laptop

  • lol i though that, its shit

  • me too lol

  • That's standard.

  • ssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh please dont reply me k

  • What?

  • its simple dont reply me

  • Haha and whys that? Why bother posting on here if you dont want reply's?

  • The 2GB RAM is standard...now a days. The laptop came out almost 2 full years ago. Still useful for today's use. lol

  • u can add more

  • id rather spend 900 somethin for a laptop then a 1400 laptop this is dam shit scamer right here

  • You guys are fucknig retarded, it doesnt have to be green

  • i think it looks pretty good and my razer onochi will work with it woot

  • BLEW TEWTH.

  • lol

  • you dont have to use those colors lol

  • Hideous.

  • Its hideous looking though lol

  • I have been having problems with it overheating... every 20 minutes. In the winter every thing is fine, but now that it is the summer and about 80F degrees i have a fan on it, and raise it up for more airflow, still every 20 minutes it goes off. Is this a common problem? the fan doesn't seems strong, about and inch away I stop feeling it. I have heard building your own computer is easier and cheaper, is this true, and can it stiil looks as cool as an alienware comp? :D thanks for any help.

  • over heatinng is a problem ive had too to solve it i took the fan out and reversed it to blow air out insted of sucking air through and it works awesome but my advice would b to buy the shell and do it the way you want to

  • hey do either one of you 2 have the reboot cd for this laptop i lost mine its a alienware 9700 and i need a reboot or a way to get the software so if any help please hep ty and yes i have the same problem with the overheating too

  • ahh what is he on about xD such long word's !!! ^^

  • This isn't expensive... atleast now.

I just bought this from an Alienware store in California, and it was NEW for only $899 U.S. Dollars.

That's great for a gaming laptop, especially by alienware.

  • does anyone know retailers in the UK which sell these laptops, only can find em' online

  • No. Alienware only has retail stores in the U.S. (but only a few). My best guess would be for you to try looking on eBay.

  • no HDMI no BUY!

  • this came out like 2 years ago lol. Not many laptops had HDMI then.

  • 0:10 He iss soooooo a virgin!

  • Why the fuck does everyone say this is expensive? Gaming computers are generally around 700-2,000 (US) dollars. Or, atleast, the good ones cost that much.

  • all these expensive gaming comps...What do you guys do for a living that you can afford this sort of stuff!?

  • i could buy a porche engine on 200e and put it in lada. desing cost money :D

  • your not paying for the power, but the design & brand. Wich some ppl likes therefore buy

  • No you can build the desktop component version for $400. It is 3 years old also man do your research. I bought one back then and it was a killer laptop. Now its good for medium spec gaming on the most 1440x900 reso

  • well 750 pounds is about 1500 dollars and thats how much an alienware laptop (m15x) is worth around now

  • but with shipping from america :P

it would be a lot more

  • mine is cooled fine the fans arent the problem...Buy some arctic silver 5 paste and thatll drop ur temps a good amount...i overclocked my gpus and cpu by a tad and i keep the laptop on a tilt with the rear on some dvd cases and the bottom panel off..

  • I got this laptop when it came out almost 3yrs ago and like the guy said it was meant to replace the desktop. battery life, playing WoW for example will only last about 45-50min or so just browsing the net doing school work and what not about 1hr 15min is what ive encountered. only problem ive had is a heating issue, not enough fan power imo.

  • 2 GB is a bit poor, the rest of the spec is nice though

  • 2gb is more then enough to still run most games. Also, as it has been mentioned, this laptop is well over 2 years old.

  • 2gb can run anything

  • i have this but in the 1gb and still does just fine with COD4 Ghost Recon WOW crisis etc. 1gb isnt out dated just yet :P tho 2gb is starting to set the standard.

  • 2gb set the standard a LONG time ago ever scince vista 4gb is starteing to rise

  • Yes, 2 years ago it was a beast. I have this laptop, and sadly its showing its age =(

  • still beastly to me! MY 8400M GS would die against this lol but my desktop pwns it (8800 GTS 640 mb Sc)

  • Dont get me wrong, its still a good laptop and I love it, but it is definately showig its age.

  • definitely*

What settings do you play in Crysis on it?

  • I dont own crysis so I cant say.

  • Ahh I see, do you have any intensive games that you can tell me you run on your computer decently

  • hmmm the most recent game would be Warhammer and AoC. Both run "ok" but certain area's I get pretty bad slow downs. The recent forceware that alienware finally released helped alot, but the laptop still struggles to run them in larger area's.

  • I know AoC is intensive but I haven't heard much about Warhammer I will go check it out

  • It actually handles AoC better then Warhammer suprisingly. And AoC trumps Warhammer in visuals. I'm not a pc guru though, so I dunno. Either way, both games have their moments of really bad slow downs. But all n all its still playable. I'm slowly saving up to build a new tower though since slow downs annoy the crap out of me lol.

  • yah thats what i suggest just build one yourself, but I think Warhammers is like WoW in the sense that it is just a resource hog = P

  • Maybe, who knows. Either way, all and all, its still a tough laptop and has served me well. Most games still run pretty good on it. It supports MXM so I might try a newer card here soon. Either way, I still wanna build a new pc now that I dont travel that much anymore.

  • can it support a 8800M GTX because that is a beastly graphics card, think if you had 2 of those, that would be sick!

  • Id have to do more research. All I know is its a type III MXM (supports type I and II as well) with an arima W830 layout. Outside of that, I'm not sure if the board can handle the software for them. mxm-upgrade . com is where you can get the cards and most of the info. Ebay has some listed as well.

  • maybe check out some. . . it might be worth it because i am guessing the cpu is upgradable too

  • green...

  • this was awesome like 2 years ago
