Compare the Atrix & Atrix 2 security, and ask yourself why they made a NEW phone with less speed and no biometrics. I think the biometrics on a phone was more than the Govenment wanted us to have. The only phone to EVER have biometrics and it seems may be the last.

Normally a pentile matrix display is brighter than a traditional lcd, though the image output is not as crisp under the microscope. Of course, I don't carry a microscope around with me, so my Atrix 4G looks fine.

Ok so my atrix got smashed by a forklift and I just ordered the atrix 2. I'm sure ill like it as much as the original. But here's my question. It comes w 8g vs the 16g onboard on atrix 1. I got a 16g card for it. Won't this make a difference in speeds? Has anyone tried this?

i have had both phones, i prefer the camera on the original atrix, even tho its a smaller megapixel. what i do is take pic of papers, 8.5x11 and send it to a program called camscanner, it converts the pix to a pdf, it seems to me the camera on the atrix work and turned out better than the atrix 2, also, another not in the bench mark test, does the larger screen size cause it to run slower by the 200?

I've had the Atrix since release as well and am fucking insulted that ATT/MOTO is refusing to port ICS to the unit when it is in my opinion, still superior to the Atrix2

I have the ATRIX 1 and I absolutely love it ,it let's you know every upgrade of every appthrough notifactions its HARD to break its got a lock pocket sensor in settings it has media volume and ringtone volume and the max.of volume is AWESOME

The first Atrix was made with better hard ware if it starts to get bogged down just hook it into your PC and use Defraggler and defragment the internal memory it makes a world of difference in performance

So this test just proves that the Tegra chipset in the original Atrix is better than the OMAP chipset in the Atrix 2. The amount of difference isn't much though. I'd take either phone, although, I am quite happy with my Inspire 4G.

Are there separate docking accessories for the Atrix 2, or does it work with the Atrix 1's just fine?

they should have just changed the screen and ditched the pentile layout. bumped the camera specs with 0 shudder lag and slightly bigger screen perhaps.......... 4'' is still decent though. kept the battery size also....its not hard to come up with a good phone. I have face palms all day when I look at the new phones coming out...they always have to leave something out or fix something that's not broken. The galaxy nexus was so close but 5MP!!! really? wow that's an implied face palm.

after unlocking, rooting, CM7 and over clocking to 1.5ghz my atrix which ive had since release on the Quadrant bench mark scores a 4682, vs the stock at 2510 and the Atrix 2 at 2371. :-D

I have the ATRIX, the original one, and I love it! The fingerprint scanner for me doesn't work... ut i'm probably doing something wrong. The camera is actually really good, I think. The ATRIX is definitely better:)

Benchmarks are not real world. You can easily see the ATRIX 2 showing a smoother interface and better UI performance during the beginning of the video. A few hundred points is what... 10% difference? Good for bragging rights, but i'll take real world performance over benchmark bragging rights any day of the week.

My Atrix 4G gets around 3600+ with CM7 and No overclocking. As for the Atrix 2 it seems like it has weaker OMAP 4 vs Tegra 2 in the original Atrix. Another drawback of Atrix 2 is the poor audio quality when compared to the original Atrix.

I hated the Atrix 1 within the first minute of using it. For whatever reason the display at the store lagged and froze...plus the icons were super tiny. The camera also isn't the greatest. After using the Atrix 2 for like 30 seconds, I was sold! No lag or freezing, crisp big screen, fast, good camera, etc. I actually couldn't care less about the fingerprint scanner. Even tho the battery is smaller than the Atrix 1, it lasts longer in tests. I've gotten about 20 hours with moderate-heavy use.

The Atrix is an ass phone HTC and Samsung are currently the top 2 companis and 3 maybe motorola or LG probaly LG but top phone are HTC evo 3d Samsung Galaxy s2 and Apple Iphone 4s but lately Motorola phones are just straight but Some decent phone are the Droid bionic and photon but honestly that 2 out of like 10 hopefully the latest Motorola Razr will rebound motorola

I'm in a bind, just bought the Atrix 1 about 3 weeks and then the A2 came out. I still have the option to return my A1, but love everything about it. Pros for A1: Fingerprint scanner, More Internal Mem, Larger battery, used docks should be going on ebay for the people that no longer need them. Pros for A2: Better screen, faster data network. I will have to go play with it to help my decision. What do you all think?

battery power and fringer print scanner are the important things for me. I see no real difference in other stats I pay attention to. Is the battery power longer lasting on the atrix 2? Down side, no finger print scanner. mmmm I also have docks I don't want to trash, I hope they are compatible.

The atrix 1 has the nvidia graphics. The atrix 2 has a ti omap processor which is actually supposed to be better. I still think tegra rules.

The OG atrix is on Wi-Fi. That's why it took a little longer for the A2 to get it's data sent/received for the benchmark results. Just an observation. I have neither of these phones, but to me, the larger screen makes the A2 a more attractive to me as far as purchasing. Also, Motorola is more likely to drop support for the OG Atrix, since the A2 came out. I would doubt seriously, that Motorola would come out with any more updates/upgrades for the OG. While the A2 may get IceCreamSandwich.

Of course my friends will try their best to talk me into the iPhone 4s, but I like Android. I like customization and widgets... both of which the iPhone lacks.
