@WVorganstudent As common as a response that is, it's actually quite likely xD I've accidentally pressed the dislike button tons of times before, because as it's loading or something happens, right when I'm about to press the like button, the screen *conveniently* shifts and I press the wrong one...But rest assured, it wasn't me this time (I don't bother trying anymore xD).
:D 2:30 to the end is just beast! I'm playing this in my high school band, and it is soooooo fun to play. The runs are pretty smooth for the fingers on the clarinet, probably cuz its all naturals. But ya, i am currently in love with this piece!!
Funnily enough, the clarinet solo is actually really easy, its the sax and oboes you have to feel sorry for, especially given the ridiculous page turns in the oboe part: the BSO are playing this in June, and im playing first oboe - had to sight read it on sunday :S Anyone else played this at this speed?
reminds me the time we played his 2nd waltz (c minor) in band...i was on mallots and the middle section with the clarinets was like suicide...but this sounds so much harder 0.0
is it really called jazz suite? it doesn't sounds like jazz, armonicly and rythm..??!?!@

Is it just me, or does it for a bar or two at 2:43 sound very similar to the ending of Festive Overture?

Yes.... I agree.... woodwind suicide :X
You can't hear it, but the clarinets have mad triplets and so do the flutes. Yowch =\

you'd agree with my mate then we're playing this at my orchestra and he plays the clari and it's practical sucide
The5thMizukage 2 years ago
This is one of my favorite pieces ever. This is the first time I've heard the orchestral original. I've only ever played De Meij's band arrangement.

This is woodwind suicide to play this at the tempo given. lol

Tell me about it - I've just sight-read 1st in the wind band arrangement and nearly killed myself in the process :-D
