  • hello docc, it is always good to see a new reviewer on the tub, i am enjoying your vids.

i am considering buying the new touch hd, but i am a little disappointed by some of its drawbacks, what would you suggest ? wait for a couple of months, or just buy the sucker, considering it kinda has no competitor :

    - iphone 3g - can't stand apple's bullshit

    - android g1 - a lot of bugs, cant compare it to winmo

    - touch pro/ sony x1 - small screen size and bulkiness is a downside

so what should i do ?

  • Hi,

Thank you for the kind words. I could definitely help you choose if you could answer a few questions:

    1) What is your primary use for the device? Work or pleasure? Or both?

    2) What is your inclination and exposure to Windows Mobile? Have you used WM devices before?

    3) Is size and one-handed use important to you?

If you could answer these 3 questions, i could instantly help you decide the device that best befits your needs.

    Thanks for watching!

    Regards,

    Docc.

  • thx docc for fast response, and sorry for my en.

    1. pleasure and entertainment ! + the fact that i love win, and you can find a ton of application, tweaks and custom cooked roms.

    2.yes a have owned a couple of winmo devices : X500 - G900 - TYTN2

    3. being used to the above devices i can say that size is not a problem, but one handed use might be important, because the device lacks a qwerty/ d-pad/ capacitive screen.

  • also, i can't see a better alternative out there, my question would be ... should i wait a bit, would i have better alternative after a few months ? winmo 7 maybe ...

  • The only viable competitor i can think of is the SE Xperia; however i cannot fully endorse it as i am yet to receive my review unit. I will doing a few video reviews on it as well and can only comment on it after spending a fair amount of time with it.

Before we get to WM 7, we are going to see WM 6.5 in the first half of 2009.

    Regards,

    Docc.

  • Hi,

Since you want a business + pleasure device and are well versed with WM and also not averse to tweaking and personalizing your device, the Touch HD would be the ideal choice. However, please be aware that when it comes to one-handed use, it isn't the best choice. Initially, you might find yourself using only one hand but within no time will you realize that using both hands improve usability and hence becomes the preferred mode.

    Regards,

    Docc.

  • thanks docc for helping, looking forward to your upcoming reviews. you're doing a great job.

  • hey how did you get the stock tab onto your touchflo3d? i have the htc touch pro. thanks

  • Hi,

This is a new addition for the HTC Touch HD :)

    Thanks for watching!

    Regards,

    Docc.
