I picked up my new 535i 2 month ago and it is so much better than the previous model 2007 550i in many ways. First and foremost, its roomier. The new interior look more elegant and sophisticated without overdoing it with excessive, lights, bells and whistles. The exterior styling is conservative but yet has the sporty flair to it. The car handles really well. I really enjoy driving it. Don't knock it until you drive it/own it.

Today's designers are eighter trying too hard or scared concervatives.

BMW 5 series looks like a smaller 7 series. It is ordinary and nothing special. This 5 series desperatly needs M kit to have some personality.

Mercedes E class has too many lines and stupid head lights.

Audi A6 is good from front but it looks like a fat baloon if you look at it from side.

in a recent event, i test drove this car along with a E300 MB and Audi A6 and a lexus 350. Let me tell you, there is no room for comparaison. it beats the E class in the interior design and performance. it is a sporty car that handles like a comfortable sedan. even if it comes short, for some, in the classical look which is for me the right bmw character. the F 10 is a sound bimmer.

I'll keep my Camry. I only drive a half hour to work. Why do I need to spend $60,000 to do that? I'd rather blow the money on something useful like by 60 inch Pioneer Elite Plasma with a $20K sound system. @gavranarh i disagree. They are at the cuttin edge.For me the e60 saloon when it first came out in standard form was ugly, and to be honest i dont really like it now. Yet the Msport and M5 are one of the best lookin cars on the road. I am sure this model will be the same in Msport format, which to be honest, is what true BMW drivers want! Plus E60 best selling 5 series ever (in a recession) i think it says it all.

I felt in love by this car when i was 9, by the e60, kind a way because of it's design, now i'm 14. I tought it was a difficult task to bmw to build a car better than the e60, but bmw did it, this car is the chief of its class and sure is the car of the driving pleasure.

Actually, upon finishing the video, I realized that the back, which does look good, resembles an Infiniti G35.

An E60 5 series, especially the 550i models, looked edgy, modern, sexy, and powerful, and translated well into the M model. I really can't see this as an M5.

i hope BMW will see success with the new 5er, and i can't wait to see the new twin turbo 4.4 liter v8 under the hood of this car with the legendary "M5" badge.

Concurred. The last generation of 7 & 5 series look avant-garde. Now they both look ugly and backward. Same in 2 ways: 1) vertical head & tail (no look in look & aerodynamics) 2) enlarged bmw twin grills at head. Why give up this design (it looks much better - (look in google with"new bmw 5 series" & pics of developed photos are available) . I own a 330ci and is bimmer fan. The new 3ers are seen designed on this trend. Ouch! Am worried for bmw future

It's a tradition mate.. BMW made the butterfly taillights in the E90 3er before LCI, ugly. The one in the E60 5er, ugly. When they go for the L-Shape, some got porblem with it. I's pretty much depends on people mate. In fact, I like this L-Shaped taillights :D Sorry if you don't like it :(

I respect your comments, but with the changing world somethings should change. The brand new Audi A8 has front lights which are million times different and gorgeous than the old designs. But, what does BMW do, take a step back from an evolutionary design and make small hideous headlights and very generic tail lights.

I own a 2006 530i with sports pack, a few weeks back I went by an brand new A5, it looked like a joke in front of what I owned. The guy in the Audi couldn't stop gazing at my car.

There's no use to buy a 5er if you have sold your 5er and bought an A5 weeks ago. Audi service are bloody expensive and they also come with very limited warranty. The eyelid idea makes the car look more aggressive, but I find only 1 simple down side to it.

Doing it will cut off part of the angel eyes the car comes with, so you can't see the full circle at night, which imo is bad.
