Bottom line is that their songwriting has improved over the years and Caleb has become a better singer. Much better band now than they were then, even though they were obviously awesome then too.

nah...new stuff ain't as good. definitely got some good songs, but they were just...cool before. they had swagger and attitude. bands change, yes. but god, the stones managed to maintain their badass-ness throughout multiple decades and make great music in most of them. i just miss it cause there arent many bands out there that pull off style like this anymore.
King's Of Leon's earlier sound and influence's i would say were Eagle's, Clarence Clearwater Revival and Lynyrd Skynyrd mainly before moving on to slightly different influence's on later material.
A classic piece of american history, just sheer genius easily one of their best song's if not the best. Youth and young manhood is decent as debut's go but they have strengthened as a unit since. 10/10

They'll always be themselves. Their music still continues to amaze me. If you were ever a true fan you'd stay one. I don't really understand why you wouldn't be, they'll always be awesome.

@VitinhoRPBR they're turning into a nostalgia act by doing these arena gigs. most people go to these shows cus they just want to hear 'use somebody' live. but there's no point cus it sounds the exact same performed live as it does on the record. anybody can get up on stage and play their 'hit' the way everyone knows it but it will never be a true 'show' until they mix it up and throw a curve ball at the audience.

@Swedishboombox hmm ye, i mean i dont have much of an opinion on their new stuff, i like it well enough but i've been a fan for years and prefer their older stuff i have to say. Doesn't mean i'm not gonna buy their next album. I've never managed to see them live but i would be dissapointed if they just played their new stuff mainly but i don't know what they would do because they've acquired alot of fans from the material on their latest album :/

@hellohello1234567810 they play mostly new stuff, but some from all albums, like the singles and a few. It makes sense though, not just from a pleasing the crowd perspective...playing new songs is more fun for the band, especially after playing older ones for yearss..its good for the band, they get into it more

awesome. love the older material. I will forever kick myself for turning down invites to go to their gigs back in the day. I enjoyed them at reading but would've loved to have been at their smaller, intimate gigs.

@joseml09 You are 100% right. First song i heard was use somebody. I thought, why are they so popular? Then I heard early stuff and got mad at American music Industry, as usual. They ignore genius and wait for convention.

well, it seems that way because Caleb's only electric is his prized ES 325, while the nathan ( think thats his name) only has a sheraton, a 175 and a cherry Les Paul. SO thats not their guitars

they don't just sound different. they've completely changed subject matter from raunchy sex, drugs, & rock-n-roll to arena-style ambient anthems.
if there are gay ass dance remixes of your songs, something HUGE has changed.

it's like caleb said, people are angry that they aren't people's pocket band anymore, it's happened so many times with so many different bands, couldn't have put it better, they wanna be the best they can be, i think sell out shows at the O2 arena in London says it all about how far they've come, I understand why ppl like the first 3 albums better, but I also understand why they have a wider audience with the 4th album, not cuz they sold out, cuz they've matured

that is the only reason. And the fact that fans hate how that all the public knows two songs of theirs. I've always said, if this album didn't sell like it did, and they were still underground inside america and the rest of the world other than england australia and some of europe, people wouldn't say they sold out

i dont understand why people always bash on their new stuff. I do agree that their older stuff is better... but their new music is still very good... im interested to see how their new album turns out, the band themselves said it will be "different"

@crew10489 cos it's produced horribly? Because it's full of sentimental and quite cliched ballads? Because it contains horrible, really bad lyrics like yeah your sex is on fire? Because the epic and dark mystery of their previous effort which promised so much turned into calculated, radio friendly stadium rock that lacked any kind of invention? I'm just listing my own greviences with it
