  • Fifa!

  • Good old KOL

  • Hehe. Love the words.

  • If you dont know them, you would think that is a band of the 70s XD

  • Come watch our cover of Red Morning Light.

    The Penatics!

  • this song is the sex :)

  • I've seen them 3 times live and every time they didnt play red morning light :(

  • Just because there music style has changed doesn't mean they are crap! Times change and they obviously are just changing there

Music to suite everyone's music more modern taste. Infact they might just be experimenting to see what the fans like and some if there modern hits like sex in fire is more popular than some of there more 'raw' songs like the bucket. So everyone chillax! And btw. For example there song kings of the rodeo. How does that relate to the strokes style if music. ! Ffs

  • Fucking amazing. They aren't awesome like this anymore. Sigh...

  • SO GOOOOD

  • Haha they fucked up, kol isn't from Memphis!! They are from Nashville!!! And look at their expression after jools say Memphis, they are like "what the fuck?!" lol

  • @vfdrummer1 jeez how did u managed to see their expression? their face on my screen is just one giant pink pixel

  • fifa 04!!!

  • @mintzpp Yeah!!!!! i've been trying to find where the hell I listened to this song, I miss my Game Cube ):

  • this seriously needs more cowbell

  • Remember FIFA 2004.

  • yeahhhh rock and roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SA SONNE EN TABARNAK!

  • FIFA 04 FTW!

    Good old Memories...:-)

    Best Game&Soundtrack ever!-3

  • As much as i still love Kings, i miss their rawness

  • there is a difference between being the best band in the world being the biggest

  • What a band they were! shame

  • @EfcCasual why shame? they're music may be different but unfortunately that appeals to alot more people so if ur a real kol fan u will appreciate the fact that they arent 1 hit wonders but are now probably the best band in the world.

  • @achmedda3rd probably .

  • @achmedda3rd Don't think they're best band in the world at the moment. Maybe in the future some time but not now. Plus there first three albums were much better. When they became big I played there first three albums to a lot of people and they said they were better. It was just that Only by the Night and Come Around Sundown are more "radio friendly."

  • @bluenose1095 Aha Shake Heartbreak is a carbon copy of The Strokes. It was a decent album, but not original. But Because of the Times took it to another level!

  • @mattymonster666 fuck off copy of strokes. listen to the music

  • @SuperFurryWalrus

Fuckin' troll. The Strokes' garage rock is mainly influenced by New Wave and Alternative Rock. The Kings play garage rock that's influenced by southern rock, rock n roll and blues.

Two different things. Go and let your mommy clean your ears.

  • @Vogelfrei777 I'm not saying influences, I'm saying the actual music you cunt.

  • @mattymonster666 KOL is a great band. The Strokes too. I am a fan The Strokes but KOL did not copy The Strokes nor did The Strokes copy KOL.

  • Is that 1973 0r 2003??

  • love the redneck look. I would love to rock a tache like that but I would just look like a pedo!

  • this is when the werent gay

  • fifa football 2004 !

  • Oh Myyy,They are so FKIN perfect!

  • 9 people gave their cinamon away..

  • im in the 80's !!!!!!!, 2003 justin beiber wasnt even born yet.

  • IS THAT NOT THE BEST FUCKING THING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN OR WHAT!? I LIKE THE KINGS NOW AND THEN BUT BACK THEN IT WAS JUST SOMETHING ABOUT THEM THAT WAS SO FUCKING EPIC! JUST LOOK AT THE WAY THEY END THE SONG, IT'S SOMETHING OUT OF A MOVIE OR SOME PARALLEL UNIVERSE WHERE STUFF LIKE THIS STILL EXIST!

  • THANK FUCK FOR LATER ON WITH JOOLS HOLLAND, MANY MUSICIANS GET THEIR BREAK ON THAT SHOW, A LOT OF DEFINITIVE PERFORMANCES ARE MADE ON THAT SHOW AS WELL IE WATCH 'THE CAROLINIAN' BY CHATHAM COUNTY LINE IF YOU CAN FIND IT..

  • wats frickin awsome bout this vid is that these guys had no idea that in like 7 years they wud be the biggest band o the whole fucking planet!!!!!! KOL RULE!

  • i love the goddamn solo!!!!

  • FIFA 2002 !!!!!!

  • @ReligousEnigma *2004 :D <3

  • @CaptainCaterpie oh ya stupid me

  • @ReligousEnigma 2004

  • Jesus Christ! KOL used to look like this???? WTF?

  • @RochilMuse Yupp. little bit different huh? this is why all the crazy old fans are pissed off (with reason) and say they sold out. they totally changed there image. even if they did sellout. I or none have the other old fans have ever been in a position with someone telling me "wear some different close and write a pop album and you will be the biggest band in the world" so i say good for them. they worked hard to get there. (sorry i'm kinda ripped and this turned to a rant) :)

  • @muzicsalesman the kings arent KISS, theyre look changed with time because everybody changes theyre look over time. The same can be said of their music, this song is a perfect example of the most simple melodies and chord formations known to man, their music today is more complex and layered. So to all the 'true' kings fans who cant accept the days of holly roller novocaine are over, get the fuck over it and go listen to something else

  • @Culturein2Chaos Sounds like U2? That's probably the most generic thing I hear from everybody that listens to famous band. Swallow your pride and move with the times! Of coarse it's supposed to be professional, once you become famous. In your opinion they're bland don't speak on behalf of millions you arrogant, small minded prick! People like yourself have know individualality on these things. You say what everybody else does about them and don't accept the fact that they have MOVED ON!!!

  • @breachmania Little bit of a contradiction there, if he doesn't know individuality and says what everybody says, who are the millions who like what they are know? wasn't "everybody" saying that they sucked because they changed? that of the matter is that yeah they changed, sometimes is good sometimes not so good and they're music didn't benefit that much by going pop. of course they're now rich and famous but look at the backlash, anyway nothing to see here move along i guess just enjoy music

  • im sorry but people who like kol last 2 records just arent worth arguing with as they are just fundamentally different people and do not understand true music is meant to be art and nothing more

  • It's Caleb who has changed drastically. The other three look and act basically the same. Caleb isn't even the same guy. The raw energy is gone, the attitude is gone.

  • @funkybjorn11 replaced by every chorus line being caleb going ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh 3 or 4 times

  • Jared is only 17 here!

  • @Culturein2Chaos You say that now but if you saw them then and didn't know who they were you would say the vocals suck and these guys are going nowhere!

KOL today are much more professional and matured this is great rock/indie yes but personally their music now effects me more.

  • @breachmania professional??? you corporate cocksucker art is not meant to be professional. people like you will never understand

  • @joel2ksweet Mmmm love that cock!

  • @breachmania Sony Music,RCA,Columbia are not indie labels, this band is not indie, indie is an umbrella term not an actual musical genre with the restrictions it brings, they're just rock, overproduced rock i guess

  • These guys can rock the pornstar mustache with the best of em.

  • @KoLMagrinoM83 lmao me too :P

  • this is such a true dirty rocknroll. this is kings of leon!! today they´re going with the style, but in these years they were pure true.

  • i liked the kings of leon back in 2003 however . there new albums . and new look is much better in my opinion

  • @samd190392 yes, now they sound and look generic.

  • @samd190392 Maybe the look is better but the Music isn't n_n

  • More cowbell.

  • @Vogelfrei777 LOL!

  • Lol at times he sounds like he got syphilis scratchin his throat.

  • God i miss this... instead of the MOR stuff they're bringing out these days, check out The Weeks debut album Comeback Cadillac.. Hopefully KOL will find their edge again, sooner rather than later :))

  • not form memphis jools. they from nashville

  • not form memphis jools. they from nachville

  • Thats the best I've ever heard that solo played. Ever.

  • saw these back then and they wer ace, now their just sell outs to money. if it aint broke dont fix it.

  • man, what i would do to see them perform like this! too bad i was only 10 when this came out! i saw them on tour for Only by the Night and they were great but nothing like this... this is just something else! wow! too bad i missed out on these kind of fantastic energized performances! i guess i shoulda been born earlier! :D I STILL LOVE KINGS OF LEON !

  • My favourite KOL song....rockin!!!!!

  • I love their new music I just wish they would get into it as much as they got into this. Best version of this song I've heard and they are having fun

  • My guitar looks just like Matthew's! :)

  • they looked like they bought all their clothes from a thrift store!:)

  • @marcostwin91 thats because they most likely did lol

  • infucking....credible

  • love calebs squealing

i miss old kings of leon

  • Bottom line is that their songwriting has improved over the years and Caleb has become a better singer. Much better band now than they were then, even though they were obviously awesome then too.

  • he looks older than he is today back in the days

  • Can we give the old stuff new stuff argument a rest. It's on every Kings of Leon video.

  • Caleb sounds so much better live now, but this is till my favourite Kol song :)

  • He needs to start smoking weed again. My god hes gay now

  • @Taygoo15 hahaha.....so right

  • @Taygoo15 that has to be one of the lamest comments ive ever heard of.

  • i love how they dressed like if it was the '70s :)

  • fucking caleb's attitude!!

  • COWBELL

  • ooo the simplicity i love it! what do you guys think of them bringing a synth/keyboard player on there upcoming tour?

  • Caleb's singing sounds great on the new album, but its clearly come at the expense of their artistic credibility.

  • KOL = Lynard Skynard covering The Pixies.

    Think about it.

  • @emojesusfreak22 Or think about this KOL = KOL

  • @emojesusfreak22 In a good way.

  • ahhh the good old times :)

  • nah...new stuff ain't as good. definitely got some good songs, but they were just...cool before. they had swagger and attitude. bands change, yes. but god, the stones managed to maintain their badass-ness throughout multiple decades and make great music in most of them. i just miss it cause there arent many bands out there that pull off style like this anymore.

  • the solo in this song is sick...matt gets so into it i love it

  • i wish they just played like this still with heaps of passion and feeling then they would still be just as good

  • Anyone know where I can find the interview that he mentions at the end? Thanks

  • King's Of Leon's earlier sound and influence's i would say were Eagle's, Clarence Clearwater Revival and Lynyrd Skynyrd mainly before moving on to slightly different influence's on later material.

  • A classic piece of american history, just sheer genius easily one of their best song's if not the best. Youth and young manhood is decent as debut's go but they have strengthened as a unit since. 10/10

  • btw here's a clip of eddie vedder from pearl jam talking about this whole mainstream thing - i understand what he's saying, i mean, KOL probably didnt intentionally try to be more mainstream or anything they've just suddenly been accepted by more people with the newer songs they've written - look up eddie vedder & mike mcreedy interview - it's the one from 1992 in milan and skip to 3:20

  • i wish matt still played a les paul

  • oh yeah ....and this outfit that caleb wears!

if only he knew what he does to me .......MEOOOW! ! !

  • i cant wait till the new album come out too!!

damn Nathan teases with the twitter updates !

  • such a tune, brilliant performance as well

  • They'll always be themselves. Their music still continues to amaze me. If you were ever a true fan you'd stay one. I don't really understand why you wouldn't be, they'll always be awesome.

  • @zudummzum okay, warum nicht? ich kann deutsch sprechen.

  • @VitinhoRPBR they're turning into a nostalgia act by doing these arena gigs. most people go to these shows cus they just want to hear 'use somebody' live. but there's no point cus it sounds the exact same performed live as it does on the record. anybody can get up on stage and play their 'hit' the way everyone knows it but it will never be a true 'show' until they mix it up and throw a curve ball at the audience.

  • @Swedishboombox hmm ye, i mean i dont have much of an opinion on their new stuff, i like it well enough but i've been a fan for years and prefer their older stuff i have to say. Doesn't mean i'm not gonna buy their next album. I've never managed to see them live but i would be dissapointed if they just played their new stuff mainly but i don't know what they would do because they've acquired alot of fans from the material on their latest album :/

  • @hellohello1234567810 they play mostly new stuff, but some from all albums, like the singles and a few. It makes sense though, not just from a pleasing the crowd perspective...playing new songs is more fun for the band, especially after playing older ones for yearss..its good for the band, they get into it more

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.como me bailan los pies solos.

  • awesome. love the older material. I will forever kick myself for turning down invites to go to their gigs back in the day. I enjoyed them at reading but would've loved to have been at their smaller, intimate gigs.

  • @zudummzum

Worst* album, not badest.... and u know what, i do like thier older stuff better but IMO all of thier stuff is great.

  • i wonder what america would think if they heard this song instead of use somebody?

  • @joseml09 You are 100% right. First song i heard was use somebody. I thought, why are they so popular? Then I heard early stuff and got mad at American music Industry, as usual. They ignore genius and wait for convention.

  • they sound so fucking great live. then and now

  • true, songs like trani, california waiting, molly's chambers red morning light, well all of their songs, i prefer live than studio

  • did the bass players hair get way thinner or what?

  • What kind of jeans are they all wearing?? They are like skinny at the top then kinda get wider at the bottom

  • @omnomnomnom101 Flare Jeans

  • awesome!!! wish they still played it this fast.

  • does anyone know where i can find the interview he talks about at the end?

  • Love this song!!!!!!!

  • The simple fact of the matter is they were cool before they were cool

  • @stevycurley892 haha

  • @stevycurley892 now they suck camel dick

  • thats a chill music for something we do like.

  • Am i right in saying that all of this gear is borrowed?

  • well, it seems that way because Caleb's only electric is his prized ES 325, while the nathan ( think thats his name) only has a sheraton, a 175 and a cherry Les Paul. SO thats not their guitars

  • ah man, i remember how much i loved them when they had this hippie 70s rocker look going on, but they have changed so much, their style and music changed alot, anyway they are still cool...

  • i love this band and i love all the little things they do all the time

caleb makes love with his gutiar all the time if u get me

matthew zones out but plays awesomely

jared plays his bass likes its too big for him

    and nathan i so casual

  • Miley Cyrus sells out at the O2, also.

half those kids will probably be at the KOL show, too.

  • "Ed [Vedder of Pearl Jam] actually called it immediately," Followill says. "He was one of the first people to hear Only by the Night, and he said, 'You're about to ride a big wave.' I don't even think he liked the record. But he knew immediately that we were about to go through something big."

  • "We definitely got bigger than we wanted to be," Caleb tells SPIN. "You feel like you've done something wrong. That woman in mom jeans who'd never let me date her daughter? She likes my music. That's fucking not cool. You almost start doing damage control: When people ask you to do stuff, you're like, 'No, because I can already tell this record is going to get to a level where people will fucking hate us.'"

  • their first two albums wouldn't be heard on a 10-yr-old girl's iPod.

example lyrics from some of those songs:

    "let your perfect nipple show"...

    "i'm in, i can't get off. i'm soft"...

    "I hear you're blowin' like a feather

And then they rub it in your face"...

they don't just sound different. they've completely changed subject matter from raunchy sex, drugs, & rock-n-roll to arena-style ambient anthems.

if there are gay ass dance remixes of your songs, something HUGE has changed.

  • this guy is a chameleon

  • If anyone wants to listen to a band that sounds similar(but unique) to early KOL please go to my page. The band is called Ha Ha Tonka and they are a band that should be bigger then they what they are now. I would like to know what you think about them as well, so leave me some feed back.

  • battathtahh

  • battathtahh? really? you have a way with words.

  • I love their newer material too but my Lord, I would give anything for another Youth and Young Manhood.

  • AGREED !

  • @JofusSunshyne fuck you

  • idiot.

  • @JofusSunshyne Infinitely agreed. I would like their new stuff if I knew it wasn't Caleb Followill.

  • @JofusSunshyne you only get to be young once

  • it looks like the guitar caleb used at oxegen 09

  • The good old days, before they became everyones faveorite band. Still love them though!

  • @chrisbleeds fuck you

  • @moomoomadman fuck you sonny jim

  • Whats all that about?

  • it's like caleb said, people are angry that they aren't people's pocket band anymore, it's happened so many times with so many different bands, couldn't have put it better, they wanna be the best they can be, i think sell out shows at the O2 arena in London says it all about how far they've come, I understand why ppl like the first 3 albums better, but I also understand why they have a wider audience with the 4th album, not cuz they sold out, cuz they've matured

  • @ThePapillon37

that is the only reason. And the fact that fans hate how that all the public knows two songs of theirs. I've always said, if this album didn't sell like it did, and they were still underground inside america and the rest of the world other than england australia and some of europe, people wouldn't say they sold out

    pe

  • what hapened whit them?

  • just amazing!!!!

  • AWESOME!

  • i dont understand why people always bash on their new stuff. I do agree that their older stuff is better... but their new music is still very good... im interested to see how their new album turns out, the band themselves said it will be "different"

  • @crew10489 cos it's produced horribly? Because it's full of sentimental and quite cliched ballads? Because it contains horrible, really bad lyrics like yeah your sex is on fire? Because the epic and dark mystery of their previous effort which promised so much turned into calculated, radio friendly stadium rock that lacked any kind of invention? I'm just listing my own greviences with it

  • @crew10489 I have heard countless times that it is going to have more of a youth & young manhood feel to it . . . hope its true

  • Those were the days. This was perfect. ! Now we are stuck with "sex somebody" .

  • Jared's hair is so pretty and healthy looking!

  • this is the shit

who would have thought they would have went in the direction they went

  • This was when they where a proper band!

  • 1:40 FTW
