The first time I watched this episode, I thought Amy was saying that the Doctor was Melody's father.

@thePoetsTime Not the way you are thinking about it. Rory and Amy are the parents, but because Melody was 'concieved' inside the TARDIS, the time-vortex altered her DNA and made her half Time Lord.

@MrPumpkinss no she is not Half Time Lord she is a proto-time lord. The Doctor said you can't just make a time lord. But the Lizard women said "you give them a hell of a start" so that means they are trying to produce a timelord and River is the closest as they can make
