- There is no way the US can get all the oil it needs by drilling inside the USA, especially not at the same price! That oil would cost a lot more!
Btw: Even Cheney himself admitted that oil was an important reason for the invasion!

Keep in mind which country sits between the two countries that we now occupy. Also keep in mind that both major parties see Iran as a threat and want to neutralize their nuclear program. We are now contending with the exact same problems with inspectors with regard to Iran as we had with Saddam. Had we not enforced the resolutions with regards to the inspectors (with or without actual WMDs), we could not make the same threats to Iran. And we have real history with Iran.

- Bush had nothing to gain by invading them, since they already sell their oil to the US, but hell of a lot to lose (Invasions/ occupations are very costly!)
- There is no way the US can get all the oil it needs by drilling inside the USA, especially not at the same price! That oil would cost a lot more!
Btw: Even Cheney himself admitted that oil was an important reason for the invasion!

Most other countries were by England, Holland, and Norway. Also the Saudi Royal family understands that they only stay in power so long as they have petro dollars to spend on the populace. This is why the royal family loves Americans irregardless of who the president is, but the average Saudi does not.

What are you talking about? The WMD argument is the reason behind the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Since it was clearly false, and the Bush Admin. simply pushed it forward (while sacrificing Colin Powell's political career in the process), there had to be an ulterior motive. Oil. What else could be the reason. There were no serious, US targeting terrorists in Iraq pre-Us occupation. So, if not oil, why did we go into Iraq? It's absurd that we started a war for crude oil.

If our invasion of Iraq was about oil, why aren't we getting that much of it? Even in the days of Mossadiq, when the CIA overthrew him for trying to nationalize oil, we didn't get any. That is because the oil companies were British, not American. We were trying to keep England on our side of the cold war and Iran out of Soviet hands. All terrorist attacks targeted at Americans have come from either Libya, Iran, Al Qaeda, or other Americans. No where else.

Keep in mind which country sits between the two countries that we now occupy. Also keep in mind that both major parties see Iran as a threat and want to neutralize their nuclear program. We are now contending with the exact same problems with inspectors with regard to Iran as we had with Saddam. Had we not enforced the resolutions with regards to the inspectors (with or without actual WMDs), we could not make the same threats to Iran. And we have real history with Iran.
