Ch7's coverage of the V8 Supercars is absolutely shocking. None of the action is live, it's all delayed telecast. With OneHD's coverage of Formula 1, sure they have their fair share of ads but at least F1 races are live (and sometimes qualifying is live, but otherwise delayed).

Fuck off with this "AFL is Australia's national Sport" bullshit, I'm from Sydney and I can tell you besides a very small cluster of "fans" in the Eastern and Northern Suburbs, no one gives a fuck about the sport and that can also be said about the majority of NSW as well. You can say the same for QLD as well, so that's two states which combined make up about 11 million people (50% of our population!!!!) who either don't like and don't support/follow our supposed "national game.

ok well, since i was last in Australia, unless something dramaticly has changed...you had multi million $ AFL clubs who pulled an average crowd of 40 - 50 thousand to their games each week and memberships around the 40 thousand mark where rugby league AND union have poor membership numbers with clubs broke as fuck and a crowd of 10,000 was huge??? which is the bigger game???

well the fact it was played in australia before league or soccer is something. Footy gets average crowd of 30,000 each game, league gets 20,000 and the a-league gets like 15,000. Also says something. Soccer is played in every state and territory. It has without doubt the highest participation levels of any sport in this country.
I live in Sydney mate, don't tell me about it. There are about a dozen league teams in sydney all of whom get about 15,000. The swans have a following, mostly based in the north shore and eastern suburbs. But overall AFL is a very minor sport for most people in NSW. Most of us follow league, union or soccer. Or all of them.
