I use a iPhone 3G on ios 4.0 and I can't get Bootlace to recognize my jailbroken iPhone as redsn0w jailbreak because I used that to jailbreak my phone D:
i´ve got a question. when i open openiboot and press install, there is a card that sais: error: installed failed. firmware could not be retrieved from apple. i tryed to do whith bootlace and whith windows, but in windows when i introduce the second command it reboot my device. what can i do??
@highball5555 It works for iPod Touch 2G? Really? This is great for me, but nothing like that stands in the iDroid Wiki. Where did you got it from? :)
@AndaleTheGreat I didn't edit out the pauses as the point was to demonstrate that this was all happening on the device itself. Editing out the pauses would've meant that other stuff could've been happening in between, like manually installing OpeniBoot
Keep in mind, this video was created before the public release of OpeniBoot flashing in Bootlace, so it was important to show that it did indeed work
I have an ipod touch 1g with 3.1.2 firmware and jailbroken with Blackra1n.
I have installed Bootlace and when i try to isntall openiboot it opens and before it installs i get an error it says kernelcache error reinstall Bootlace.
I have reinstalled it and i get the same error everytime.
@devil4hunt The Samsung Galaxy S has the same GPU as the iPhone 3GS/4, iPod Touch 3/4 and the iPad, however iDroid does not yet exist for these devices. OpeniBoot is currently being ported to iPhone 4 and iPad however, and there is a possibility most of the code from the Galaxy S's kernel may work, but there's no way of telling for sure.
I have done none of the coding on this project, merely testing. The guys in the project love what they're doing. :)
@tommy23i You need to manually upload the PS3 Jailbreak files to /private/var/idroid on your iPhone/iPod Touch. Bootlace may in the future have an option to install iDroid, iX or PSFreedom (or all of them), however there is no confirmation that this will definitely happen
@mb52787 There was a slight issue with WiFi drivers at one point with Bootlace. Try going to the iDroid tab in Bootlace, and hit the little i in the top corner. You should see an option to install the wifi driver
@94Apple Not yet. The manual tools for installation need to be created first, and OpeniBoot needs to be tested and updated for 4.2.1. Then Bootlace compatibility can be done. There's no ETA as to when any of these tasks will be complete
@attention57 Due to legal reasons, we cannot include Android Market in our images. The only way of installing apps at the moment is manually using adb, or downloading apk files onto the device using it's browser, and installing from there.
@oafgeneralg10 OpeniBoot is currently being ported to iPod Touch 2nd Gen, however a timescale is unavailable. It may take time, as all the developers have jobs, and work on this in their spare time
@umangjain420 OpeniBoot is currently being ported to the iPod Touch 2G, however no timescale is available. All the developers have jobs, and work on OpeniBoot and iDroid in their spare time
hey this is a good video but when it says patching the kernel it says that it says old kernel cache could not be backed up or removed what do i have to do i jailbroke the phone with with redsnow b1 and i am on 4.1 so what can i do
I installed it on my iphone 2g 3.1.2, Android ran fine, when i shut down the phone, and turned it back on, i was at the boot screen but Iphone OS or Android wont even boot now. Crap. @brijeshpatel1234 It's possible you jailbroke with redsn0w 0.9.6b2, which there is an issue with at the moment. If you just run 0.9.6b1 over it, it should sort it. A Bootlace update should be out in the near future with redsn0w 0.9.6b2 support

@Popple3 yea i was, and after i posted that comment i found out the error in b2. honestly i figured since b2 didnt work that b1 wouldnt either. but honestly, having 3.1.2 on my 3g is a saving grace because 4.1 and the like are slow. running 3.1.2 my 3g is almost as fast as my 3gs on 4.0. so yea your right using b1 works and my way also works.
@devil4hunt SIM PIN support is currently not available, but should be fixed for the next release of iDroid. Until then, you must disable SIM PIN in iOS, then reboot into iDroid
@KemeticReign Have you gone through the iDroid installation on the iDroid tab in Bootlace? It could be that the iDroid images aren't on your phone. OpeniBoot installation doesn't install iDroid at the same time.
@KemeticReign That strange... Post over on the forum (link is in the description, YouTube doesn't seem to like me putting the link in here) and you'll be able to get more specific help
After I selected Android from the boot list, it does all this white scroll text and stopped at "WELCOME TO OPENIBOOT, WELCOME TO OPENIBOOT", and has been stuck on this for awhile, is this normal for an iPhone 2G that was jailbroken with Blackra1n?
@mapa92 It's a long way off I'm afraid, iPhone 4 OpeniBoot porting is progressing slowly, but nothing has been done for 3GS, as none of the devs have one.
Won't work on my iPod Touch 1G.

@KemeticReign That strange... Post over on the forum (link is in the description, YouTube doesn't seem to like me putting the link in here) and you'll be able to get more specific help

Gah, now I really did mess this up. I chose iOS...it loads, then it shuts off.
Sorry for the bother!

Assistance needed! Thanks!

@mapa92 It's a long way off I'm afraid, iPhone 4 OpeniBoot porting is progressing slowly, but nothing has been done for 3GS, as none of the devs have one.

@Popple3 aww ok. thanks anyways. But, do you know if there is annyway I can get android on my iPhone 4? (FW 4.1, no SHSHs ;( )
mapa92 1 year ago
@mapa92 OpeniBoot needs to be ported before we can work on iDroid, so at the moment, no. It's a long way away

i got the eorror "Your Kernel is not compatible, please jailbreak with redsnow" and my iPhone 3G (4.1) is Jailbroken with redsnow...
xymaps1 1 year ago
@xymaps1 There's a problem at the moment with redsn0w 0.9.6b2. If you run 0.9.6b1 over it, it should hopefully work fine then.
Just make sure to do a sync with backup before just in case, but it should be fine.
Failing that, you might need to restore, and then run redsn0w 0.9.6b1

@xymaps1 yeah same here..kernel not compatible
same also at redsnow and 4.1 firmware
