Hey nick just a few quick questions. #1 what weight crank bait and jig should i get when fishing in a lake or pond at 6' deep? #2 What test line should i get to match up with the jig or crankbait when fishing 6' deep? I plan on using both a bait caster and spinning reel when using jigs and crank baits. Plz reply as soon as possible. Thx
@Twinz8523 3/8 black/blue jig & 3/8 pumpkin in a cobra style jig head half grass half football. I would say 14lb line but since you also want to fish a jig i am going to say 17lb fluorocarbon. I would use a different crankbaits depending on the forage and water color. Anything in a bluegill pattern is a good all around choice, try out something simple like a KVD 2.5
@budlighturnight well it all depends on water clarity, depth, temperature and what fish are feeding on. so if you have a fish finder use it and look where the bass are and what tempurature they are at. and also try to catch one on anything and put it in a live well and most likely it will vomit up what it has been eating and match your spinner color to try to imitate the bait.
@budlighturnight it might be because ur spinner is too big and it spooks the fish. use smaller spinners. and if its murky use gold spinners. i always use rooster tails when i use spinners or rapala x raps and husky jerks if i want to use some plugs
hey what are some good small lure or plastics for bass? our bass are on the small side so the big buzzbaits and spinnerbaits are not too great to use =[ please and thank you
@HATINTHEKAT For bass of any size i have HUGE success with the rapala skitter pops. Its a top water lure if your not familar with them. Cast near some weeds let it sit a second and pop it, reel, pop it, reel untill you get a hit (which usually doesnt take long)
Poppers are a great bait for bass or any fish that will strike top water, it makes a loud splash that the fish go crazy for and imitates wounded fish.
Bass lures are tools it's all about the right tool for the job. But if I had to only use one rig & no others it would be a wacky rigged zoom trick worm.

I some times use the spinner baits, but almost all the time the soft plastics works better....
