Diggin' the strings in this interpretation. I was "exposed" to this song watching "Sanford and Son" in the 70s. Funny how you passively learn something from somewhere else. That's the fun in learning when you don't even know you are.
Nice interpretation of the great Jimmy McHugh tune. McHugh, one of the most prolific tunesters also wrote I Can't believe you're in love with me and numerous other jazz standards. Jimmy McHugh had more talent in his little finger than 10 of today's composers.
Proves less is more with a great song. It's what Willie doesn't do that makes it great. All the musicianship on this recording is very subtle and restrained. Beautiful.
After the first time i listened to this version of this song, i got it stuck in my head all day. What a good day it was, because this is an awsome song and willie is an awsome musician.
Very nice. Willie can do "popular" (as opposed to country) as well as anyone.

Hey Willie,
the host of your annual picnic for years, Aaron Allan, you remember him?
You recorded a song or two of his??
He featured you on his radio shows for years....
He's ill and you bum, The Country Western Hall of Fame told me for sure they'd notify you of his being ill and going into the hospital,
contact him or, your a soul less prick.
He adored you more than a brother, you used him and his talent for years now, you ignore him?????

Many have recorded their own version of this song, but only a very few have captured the spirit of the song. Willie is one of them!
