Sometimes, you need to keep the baby somewhat in the water before the placenta comes out, because the cord is too short. It would require the mother to move out of the tub, and it's a little hard maneuvering around a cord with a baby hanging on it. :)
@mirandabear97 The baby spent nine months in amniotic fluid. By letting him remain in the water for a few moments immediately after birth, it makes the transition from the womb to the outside world less traumatic for the baby.
Out of all of the series of birth clips I've scanned, this one stands out as one of the most miraculous! It is simply amazing to watch the delivery, not of one, but two! All is done in what appears to be such control, with little intervention...Props to the mother and father!
the video at the end of the movie is a nice birth, but future midwife does not have the whole thing. Where did you find that birth video? It's beautiful! let me know
oh my i was so scared on the water birth parts. i thought the poor thing might drown. but i know they wont its just scary. I could go into labor any minute. and its so nice to see birth so calm.
wonderful and happy vid i loved it... i think birth is an amazing blessing from god......... its not that its buitiful its a bit scary but i cant say its ugly ether because its actually VERY emocional and amazing!!
but the babies are ABSOLUTLLY WONDERFULL!!!!! GORGOUS!
Bringing the baby out of the water immediately is not necessary, as the baby does not try to breathe unless it comes into contact with air or extreme temperature change. Waiting longer than ~5 minutes is only risky because the placenta may detach. Then the baby can no longer receive oxygen through the cord. Until that point, as long as the cord is not clamped or cut, the baby continues to respirate through the umbilcal system.
i really dont understand why did they have to let the kids watched it. But yes, it is an happy event.

@MsMsBeauty pain is a huge misconception. Remember what is painful one person can be pleasure for someone else.

Generally, humans need to breathe, keeping those babies underwater for that long was unnecessary
