Old comments but i thought id add how i do them :) Its awkward to get the weight on your back without it slipping off, so i use a back pack :) Pull the straps tight and load the plates in and off you go :)
So in your opinion , do you like training with pushups with weight on your back more than benchpressing , because I feel like benchpressing involves more muscles and is a more natural movement which I feel builds you better , just the way I feel and ive been thinking about doing weighted pushups. Just wanting to hear your opinion?
Push ups are a more natural movement and safer on the joints. It is a closed chain exercise in the same way squats, deadlifts, dips, etc are...only trouble is that it's hard to add weight...bench press is more convenient...however I prefer deep weighted dips as the top pressing exercise...
It is also a variation of a ab exercise called 'the plank', technically it isen't safer on the joints as your flairing your elbows out but it does involve alot more stabalizing muscles.
@menace3000 mate can i ask have you got a gr8 chest development from pushups? say are you happe with your chest??? sorry for the random question and by the way nice! video the weight is enough to make me fall flat on the floor.
Pushups are more natural of a movement and safer on the joints. Until you put 225 lbs on your back. Which puts a large amount of pressure on your lower back.
vouch on menace3000 1week ago... menace how long have u worked on weighted pushups? just lookin to set a goal to reach at 18... going weighted calisthenics on every muscle group
a push up is 60% if your weight. if you weigh 215 then you're doing a 129lb bench press plus the weight on your back so that's a 345lb bench press you're doing in this video. nice
what do u think of a man who weights 170lbs/77kg and is able to do 12 pushups in a row with a 120lbs/55kg person standing on his shoulder blades. standing, not sitting. so the entire weight is on him. 170lbs man doing 12 pushups in a row with 120lbs person standing on his shoulder blades. all the way up all the way down. what do u think? opinions.

@ExtremistPullup I guess you must have a strong back then. There's such a thing as progression.
