@ross19902008 It is a good starter Smartphone with a touch screen. It is easy to use and definitely slick phone. It comes in two colors black and purple, so you do have options. Good camera, good memeory, and Swype technology.

@5starchick310 Using the Android Market, there are a few good Ringtone Creators you could use. You use a song you would like, cut it down, and then add it to your sounds to make for a ringtone.  Or you could use VZW's Media Center to buy or get some ringtones for free!

@1eaglesfan966065 I would suggest using an MP3 ringtone maker on your device and computer. Using that tone you received - just cut it down to a few seconds and than add it as a "notficiation" in your sound folder

and my second question is when you go to the app store is it online so like would you have to pay to go to it?

@WebkinzTvTable Questions 1) There is a section in the App Market that is labeled "Top Free" . There are A TON of free apps for your phone. Querstion 2) Yes, you will be using data to browse and download the apps to your phone. This should not be a problem because of the data package you have on your phone.

Whats the battery life like?

@Classical4eva Battery life is pretty good. Active time and talk time average 7.5 hours which can adjust to how much you are using the phone. If you are a heavy phone person, your battery will drain faster. Do not fret, since this is a ANDROID phone , you have many apps that control your battery consumption.

@emu142 Yes, this phone is good! It has a great feel when it is in your hands and has a bright screen thats responsive to the touch. It is a fast phone and is android based. Camera on it is okay and is easy to use. You will throughly enjoy this phone.

@x3BRAiNDEAAD The volume settings are the same as most phones. There is a vibrate that you can choose to vibrate all the time or just when it is on silent. So there is a vibe + ring option.

@x3BRAiNDEAAD I used to have an enV touch. Volume was so low. This phone is much louder. My husband has a captivate, my phone is louder than his.

There are four things to set on the volume and I think that is great. There is ringer, media, notification and alarm. Much more volume control than previous phones.

You won't be disappointed if you get a Vortex. I sure am not. Had mine since Dec. 2010. Love it.
