@420dethmarch Dude..YES, that was a common complaint, if you look to the NEWER versions of the PMAG's, they are LESS aggressively ribbed and were redesigned to allow the dust cover and feed lip tension release cover, to CLICK onto the floorplate of the magazine to retain it.

BUT, I use RANGER PLATES, so the dust covers are almost a throwaway anywho, I wont let my ass be shot for a peice that ISNT life saving, and I can replace later.

@andromedarr Dude...the older ones not so much, they tend to bind a bit, but it depends on WHICH double mag pouch is being used, some are ALOT tighter then others and the resulting lock of the two mags will make TWO come out and one fall, as opposed to grabbing one and getting a good reload. rangers can make the mag too long, check your pouch, before diving in on a whole mess of them for every pmag you own. traction tape will also act like sandpaper, and wear the pouch faster.

@Nuk3Fish Dude, it's a semi hard replacement for the magazine floor plate, the part that is the cap for the bottom of the magazine. it helps protect the mag if you drop it by cushioning the impact and gives you a handle to remove it from mag pouches and if you want to put a cord on it to avoid it's loss.

@maddogmp9 Dude..I just go into Virginia and buy all I want...nothing wrong with buying over twenty rounders in OTHER states. they couldnt STOP you from doing that, actually we have a good guy in the state senate who snuck in the "automatically grandfathered magaines, from other states" statute..

and all of Maryland if dicked..not just the more liberal areas..oh never mind..that IS the state.

@Beachcrib Dude, the only thing I'd worry about with any plastic mag is dropping them on the feedlips in horribly cold conditions..guess what, dont drop your mags on the feed lips in horribly cold conditions...problem solved.

yeah I keep a healthy supply of them in combination of my standard GI mags and they work great, thanks for the comment, appreciate your time.

FDE doesnt stand for "field dark earth" it stands for Flat Dark Earth. That is the "tan" color you refer to. The PMags come in Black, FDE(Flat Dark Earth), OD(Olive Drab), and FG(Foliage Green)

@dgl1962 Dude...enjoy,these are very excellent mags,mine are the older generation,so your's are cosmetically different and also the floor plate will accept the feedlip protector/dust cover/tension reliever.

UNLESS you add rangers,then they dont fit either way,your results may vary

The Ranger plate is OD green, the tan mag was FDE(Flat Dark Earth). Those mags are also the gen 1 mags, The latest are the M revision mags.

actually..sorry, they ARE Field Dark Earth.

trust me ,my reading comprehension is just fine,they came packaged as 3 FDE RANGER PLATES/MagPul bought at a gunshow,installed as my HOME USE mags for ID purposes. if you want I can show the difference in ranger plates. but I felt that that was being a bit..anal. so I simply showed the ready mags I have loose, commenting on them. I try to be as accurate as I can, I do know that MagPul makes them in BLACK OD and FDE,but trust me, these are FDE .

also the OD is a bit..."brighter" then the darker FDE,I wanted something to tell me that these are for HOME DEFENCE USE ONLY. hence they are FDE and not my standard black ranger plate.

but I 'field' mine, never flatten.

absolutely,thanks for the information,I just dont encounter the orage ones much and they have no real value out in the bush,hence I didnt include them.
