The falling analogy is a bit flawed. It is the sudden deceleration that kills, in both cases.
And the acceleration from falling onto pavement is practically instantaneous, whereas a vehicle collision is spread out over half a second or so.
But that is no reason to disregard your and more importantly others' safety by driving like a lunatic.

Cars give you the illusion of safety,you dont really feel the speed you are going,unless you have to stop in a hurry,or hit a solid object.
