@avinashi07 - Steam Engine suffers from many disadvantages - lack of fuel efficiency, lack of energy efficiency, air pollution, noise pollution ... And if you consider the efforts to get the coal from earth and to transport that from that location to any place and energy spent to get that - if you add everything together, the final efficiency will be far less than a diesel powered engine or a electric power engine. And all these is for what ? for heritage ? Big LOL. Be in Real World !!!

What a Great Pollution caused by this loco? Don't know when the govt. wakes up installing electric loco to get rid of this pollution.

@avis1001 - It is better that you don't pass comments without adequate knowledge. Steam loco does not cause any significant amount of pollution. The Thermal Power Plants that produce electricity pollute the atmosphere a lot more.And electrification on a mountain line and that too a world heritage line is pointless
