  • Club for growth is part of the MItt Romney cash machine. He gives them money in secret, they slam Mike Huckabee in public. What a scam.

  • Huckabee says we have to stay in Iraq or we'll lose our "honor". I would like Huckabee to please explain to me what is so "honorable" about the illegal and unconstitutional invasion and prolonged occupation of a foreign nation, the overthrow of a stable government in order to make it unstable, and the systematic killing of over 650,000 people in a massive genocide worthy of being called a miniature holocaust.

  • I don't want a President that is hostile to science like Huckabee is. The guy's insane, and doesn't look or act Presidential in the least bit. He won't restore the Constitution at all, he'll just sell us out like the Bushes and the Clintons.

If you want liberty, vote for Ron Paul.

  • I don't get the Club for Growth's stand in this ... Why are they giving McCain, Guiliani and Romney a pass to attack Huckabee? Even more than surgical tax cuts, we need a complete overhaul of the tax system ... and Huckabee will do that with the FairTax.

  • He is a Dixiecrat who needed a party to use to further his ambitions.

Oh... and can you list for me the 94 times he cut taxes.... and don't count each county individually and don't count taxes that expired.

  • Calling Mike Huckabee is a extremely ignorant statement, or manybe you just don't know what the term means. First off he has been a Republican for life, he raised the bar for Children's health care coverage in Arkansas, he raised the bar one of the worst education systems in American, and took a state-wide initiative on preventive Health Care. How exactly does that make him a dixiecrat??

  • Socialized, tax-funded health care, and socialized tax-funded education for that matter, is not something that Republicans are supposed to stand for. A real republican would have solved Arkansas problems by lowering taxes and thus making it more affordable to buy health-insurance, or something of that nature.

  • It is unbelievable how ignorant you are. Arkansas does not and definitely did not have socialized health care. The entire country has tax-funded health care, it's called medicare and medicade. Maybe you've heard of it. And one of the things that make America great is public education and if you think a Presidential Candidate is going to denounce public education, you are far more ignorant than I am giving you credit for.

  • I know about medicare and medicade, and they're a disgrace. There should be a complete free market for health-care. Getting the government involved in health-care, either with funding, or regulation, or both, violates the constitution and violates the principles of free enterprise and liberty that the united states was founded upon. The same thing is true for education.

  • Having public education is socialism, and the fact that tax-payer funded socialist education programs exist in the USA is something to be ashamed about, not proud of. "Public" education belongs in the socialist countries of Europe, it is not something that America should have.

  • What's so bad about socialism? It's a hell of a lot less corrupt and more fair than capitalism.

  • The truth is Mike Huckabee cut taxes over 90 times while governor of Arkansas, which by the way at that time had the largest democrat lead legislature in the entire country and returned almost $400 million to Arkansas taxpayers, including the first broad-based tax cut in the history of the state.

Would you like to continue to spread ridiculous lies or are you willing to yield to the truth now??

  • Would you like to continue to spread your retarded nonsense? Have you ever heard of Massachusettes? Arkansas did NOT have the largest democrat-led legislature in the country!

  • Actually they did. Right at 90% of the State Legislature were Democrats during the majority of Mike Huckabee's term.

Massachusetts was in the lower 80's at the time.

    Check your facts.

  • He increased State Government spending by 50%. Raised the sales tax by a net 37% and the fuel tax by 16%. The Economy in Most of Arkansas had a contraction during his 10 years in office, while most of the Southeast saw a boom. He lost more opprotunities to bring in business than one can count.

At the end of his very long tenure, Arkansas ranks near the bottom in every statistic... oh except... number 1 in teenage pregnancy and highway fatalities.

  • Government Spending that was actually under Gov. Huckabee's control was raised less than half a percent ever year. Like the Club for Growth, you should do more in depth research before you go flapping you lips.

  • And here are some statistics for you...

Before Huckabee took office Arkansas had one of the lowest rated highway systems in America. When he left it was ranked in the top 5.

The state obesity levels dropped dramatically under his initiatives to live healthier. Children being diagnosed with diabetes and being overweight were cut in half.

AND Governor Huckabee made 94 STATE WIDE TAX CUTS in his 10 years that he signed off of his desk, if you have proof against that number I'd like to hear it.

  • This is about as misinformed as an add can get...

  • The Club for Growth should actually do some research and tell the entire side of the story. Can we say distorted point of view and smear ad??

  • Pretty interesting that the Club for Growth fails to mention that Gov. Huckabee cut taxes 94 times through a Democrat majority legislature and the four times he did raise taxes in his 10 and a half years as Governor, three of them were following either a vote of over 80% of the people of Arkansas to build roads or following a Supreme Court order to improve schools.

  • He is a Dixiecrat who needed a party to use to further his ambitions.

Oh... and can you list for me the 94 times he cut taxes.... and don't count each county individually and don't count taxes that expired.

  • Unfortunately, it's a favorite trick of politicians of both parties to vote BOTH ways on taxes. My own state Senator pulled the same garbage here in Virginia. A conservative ran against him this last go round here in Virginia, and Senator Walter Stosch had a near-death experience; he won by a mere 213 votes.

I want someone that votes against taxes 100% of the time.

  • As nice as that would be, sometimes in Government we have to do things that are best for the country or state and not just a few peoples wallets.

I am a big conservative, but I realize that it is irresponsible to vote against every tax that is ever brought up for a vote. We do have a government to run.

The tax record is really a moot point, because Huckabee is the biggest supporter of the Fair Tax and will fight heavily to get it implemented and our current Tax system abolished.
