This is really singing. I mean I'm not that old. But if you think about it every disney channel star can have a record. None of them can sing. You can auto tune anything!
I fell in love with Margaret Whitings music after watching one of those record ads on TV in the 70's.Her voice was so clear and sounded like the "girl next door".Her rendition of this song is second to none..Thanks for posting.
now that is singing not some of the garbage that is pushed on everyone . yes i am older and grew up with this music where they knew how to read music.
@bud8630 well, not all knew how to read music. and making music has not anything to do with reading music or being able to do so. music didnt start by people reading music.
@Anoush23 This, and you can read music and sing the notes correctly all you want, but music is about expressing yourself. If you're all technique and no emotions, that's not going to get you very far. The best singers out there are the ones who can convey their emotions through music. It's why in my high school choir, my choir teacher always held a mirror to our faces so that we could see how we look like when we sing. And singing with a blank expression makes us look silly.
@bud8630 reading music is nothing if you have no talent and feeling. i know several fantastic keyboard players who can only play with sheet music. if you take it away and say 'okay, this we are going to do "days of wine and roses in the key of F" they are completely lost.
i was just thinking that about judy garland. i think they all tried to sound like someone.....well they still do, just not judy...

I wish someone would upload Far Away Places by Margaret. That was one of my Mother's favorite songs and it is one of my all time favorites too.

@bud8630 um, people today do know how to read music, too, you know. You CANNOT major in music if you cannot read music.
