It's so sweet to see how relatively quickly they took to each other (though I'm sure some of that was due to video editing. ;P) My cat Fred didn't take too kindly to the introduction of our kitten, though we tried to do it as slowly and gently as we could. I think Fred's just a "one cat per family" kind of girl. She's at least coping now.

Funny how they bow up a bit at first, but then they ease up and become buddies.

I had a question about this breed of cat. It looks somewhat intense of character. Do they make good-natured pets or do they have a temper? It looks as though it may have more of the tiger in it than just the dots. I like the looks of this cat and I would consider buying one, but I wouldn't like to lose an eye to it or to have it hurt kids.

The sad thing is, the kitten was taken away from its mum and placed with another adult cat - a stranger. Too bad kittens can't stay with their mum a little longer. They are separated far too soon.

@MAZENBIRA Each cat is different. We used to have a female bengal with a short tail. That's also why the breeders charge more for some kittens than others.

How long did you keep the cats apart before the introduction? I'm about to do the same thing in a couple of weeks. My 15 years old tonk lost her brother to heart failure 4 months ago, and has been very lonely since (they were litter-mates, so she's never known life as a lone cat). I'm hoping she takes to the new little guy straight away, but do worry. Even the tiniest piece of advice would be extremely helpful, as your two look like they've managed it incredibly seamlessly. @jensjam My wife would kill me if I let either of the cats out of the house! Both cats are males. I'm told that its more difficult to introduce a female cat into a house with a male (and that's been my experience as well.)

Mithril seems very happy to have a companion again. It's wonderful that you and Mrs. Britethorn recognize that our animal friends have emotional needs beyond what we can give them. We have one cat who doesn't get along very well with our other cats, but he absolutely loves our two dogs. We spends a lot of time with them when they're in their yard and enjoys snuggling with our male dog.

@britethorn Oh, she "uses" my keyboard all the time, especially when I'm on the phone and trying to use the computer at the same time. She also likes to "pet" the screen. Bear in mind she has all her claws. All I can say about that is Dell makes some very sturdy flat-screen monitors.
