  • greatest fade cam shot in the history of cinema. This video holds the answer for how to fix the economy

  • alot of people mentioned this on imdb, they sold him out, they used him as a decoy and didnt seem to leave him a car, i dont know if the car hes standing next to was part of the humungas crew

  • @TURBODORK2 It's Pappagallo's, I think.

  • I would have definetly gone with them.

  • The vehicule that Max has at the begining of Thunderdome that is being pulled by the camels is what he apparently salvaged from the wasteland between the two films. The people in the outpost did not give him anything after the ending of Road Warrior.

  • Max is like Odin charging straight to Fenrir with Thor by his side. The guy in white with the hockey mask is like Thor who fell. Hehe

  • when did they leave Max ? was it before he crashed the truck? also did they leave him a car?

  • What's especially nice about this ending is the ambiguity. Did Max know he was a decoy, or did the Refinery folks just use him? If he had said "Can I come with you?" we'll never know if they'd have said yes or no.

  • all time classic..

  • @ 0.40 seconds would be a nice poster

  • what happened to them?

  • Amazing ending to an all time great movie, especially from 0.38 onwards. The haunting music, the narration and that pull back of Max fading into darkness is fucking lengendary. It does make you shiver.

  • When this ending came on, I was like "What? That was a boy?"

  • This is one of my favourite endings of any films..and the line "he lives now only in my memories" never fails to offer up some bigtime goosebumps and shivers up and down the spine

  • "He lives now...only in my memories."

    Chills me to the bone.

  • This ending and the Terminator 2 ending are my all time favoirtes. But this ending is EPIC.

  • That ending gives me a heartbroken every time I see it. I would not want to do that if I were him. I guess it is easy for him because he's been a loner and survivor all the time after Mad Max.

  • What gives me chills about this ending is that the Feral Kid knew that he would no longer see what he just saw. Humans are social creatures and eventually (in that post-apocalyptic reality) civilizations will be built again. And this era of lawlessness, chaos, and search will disappear forever. So too will the figure of Max - to the mists of antiquity.

  • Max must atone for his sins,so he'll stay on the Road forever. Bringing the Law to the lawless.

  • no actually the road warrior is an even match with the first its not 80's crap

  • Beyond thunderdome was a good movie imo, it just wasn't a good Mad Max movie..

  • @shotguns1994 I'd say it was a good Max movie. It completes his character arc: in the first film he's a normal guy who falls from grace along with civilization, in Road Warrior he's just a burnt out nomad who just starts to be re-humanized and in Thunderdome he completes this transformation back into a human by realizing he has to help the Tribe of kids.

  • that is the second best ending in the history of endings

  • @BaconWars211 what is number one?

  • why didnt max go with them?

  • @BigBulgeCheeks It's not in his character. He is a loner.

  • @SgtMustang so whats his plan then? drive around until he runs out of petrol or food? beause he probably wont last another fortnight, his car is a V8 he must eat petrol, hes just driving in circles going nowhere, thats stupid

unless he finds some wierd place called thunderdome lol

  • @BigBulgeCheeks That is his plan, he has no point left in life, except to drive, get gas, and kill baddies.

Besides, his V8 was destroyed earlier int he movie.

  • @SgtMustang oh yeah. but still. what happens when he cant find anymore petrol? he just lays down and dies? another thing that always bothered me was, do you think he would have killed the gyro captain in cold blood if he didnt know about the gasoline?

  • @BigBulgeCheeks He did run out of gas eventually. If you remember the beginning of Beyond Thunderdome, his car was being pulled by a team of camels

  • @boodat77 Also, his interceptor was destroyed in this movie. So either he immediately had to switch to an animal pulled cart or the Villagers gave him a vehicle.

  • @BigBulgeCheeks it wudnt really matter becuz its in the outback just nothing but a single road that goes around australia and deserts

  • Perhaps, one of the greatest endings of all time.

  • he lives now, only in my heart.

  • Bravo. I was young when I saw this movie and the ending still gives me chills.

  • And the Road Warrior? That was the last we ever saw of him..................he lives now.......only in my memories.

  • as for me, O has to be prepared for a lonely future. i guess destiny is hard to avoid...too bad.

  • i found the Tell to be cheesy, a 2nd rate attempt, that the ending of RW had already defined to perfection.

  • I just saw this movie...yeah and the ending just gives you chills...they dont make films like this anymore

  • @Hanleywood2006 - If this gave you chills, you'll be balling like a little girl when they do The Tell at the end of Thunderdome.

  • I have yet to see that one...saw a few clips once but never the whole way. I give it a try if they show it again.

  • yep, this is one of the greatest ending in movie history

  • Fucking awesome.

  • good to think there was a hero in all that chaos

  • The ending of this film is godly.

  • But actually... they see him again. He an Gyro meet in Mad max 3, about 15 years after mad max 2

  • @diegoyotta - No they don't. It's the same actor, Bruce Spence, but a different character. In Beyond Thunderdome he plays Jedediah.

  • @diegoyotta nope, its the same actor as the gyro captain but its a different character

  • And Nightlife? That was the last we ever saw of him. He lives now only in my memories.

  • im glad the movie ended the way it did because he was a loner never staying down in one spot for to long, plus i can't see him settling down and having a family

  • shood put intro and outro together!....then have the sax music from MM1 when it goes black.

  • Greatest ending ever?

  • Yes.

  • absolutely

  • Music should have been more subtle, voice acting was great. Very good ending.

  • i want a framed poster of the shot of Gibson standing on the road when the cameras pulling away

  • The use of a narrator in this, a film without much dialogue otherwise, is perhaps the best ever in a movie. Can anyone think of a better voice-over narrator in a film?

  • thats a classic pull back.

  • I really enjoyed the narration in 300. It wasn't better than this though!

  • thanks for posting. good mythical ending.

  • @pinboyjorf exactly. you chose the right word: "mythical", but not only this....i think the Feral Kid saw Max as a father figure, that's why he remembers him after so long.

  • the best ending yet!!!

  • What was a deep ending....

Beyond Thunder was great, loved the ending on that one too.

  • this scene is the reason i hate beyond thunderdome. It is so good and that entire movie ruins its efficacy.

  • @cronshaw true man thunderdome was 80s pur bullshit whats going on with the landscape it isnt the fucking sahara desert atleast in the second one there was some trees wtf

  • @dmohr7 "true man thunderdome was 80s pur bullshit"

Guess you thought The Road Warrior was 80's bullshit (Your words) as well.

  • He lives now....only in my memories.

  • Thanks for posting this.
