  • wow. 2:27

  • If you listen to this with headphones on and its quite loud, you can hear creepy breathing in the background... I was laying in bed listening thinking there was something in my room until I realised it was on the track. It's really faint a subtle though, listen carefully at just after 2:04 for instance

  • @thejames9393 its probably the pianist breathing lol

  • Gotta love the key change. ;)

  • Battle Royale anyone?

  • Bungie has good taste in music.

  • This is good! helps me fall asleep.

  • I want a piano because of this song

  • This + rainymood (DOT) com = amazing.

  • @danprince10

    I now love you. Thanks.

  • @prox1mately Haha thanks you! vote up my comment so it gets to top and everyone sees it!!

  • @danprince10 I usually like rainymood, but I feel like it makes this sound too cluttered.

  • really great playing. this is a great chopin piece love it.

  • nice sonata from france

  • @StefanR10 ok for 1 he's polish and 2 its a prelude

  • I came because of Halo 3.

  • @XxXxWhatsername are fucking kidding us

  • @MultiAncafe are fucking english

  • @XxXxWhatsername how did it happen?

  • @XxXxWhatsername I just came..

  • ETERNAL SONTA IS THE ONLY GAME WITH ACTUAL MUSIC

  • the end silence at the end is perfect

  • This song was so memorizing and so soothing. I was thinking what song I should learn next and I've found it

  • believe

  • I was listening to this and at 2:28 I was like, "Hey! This was in the Halo 3 trailer!" lol. This music is 1000% epic, even without the Halo trailer.

  • this is devine...

  • @monicacbing This is not classical

  • @MSW1997 Uh yeah it is. If you're referring to the time period it was composed in which was Romantic then I see what you're thinking but it is still considered classical music.

  • @pianistic61 Agreed. Classical Minnesota Public Radio plays Bach.

  • I think I just experienced every emotion I'm capable of feeling in less than ten minutes...

  • Fryderyk Chopin:) Best Polish composer

  • @lolek1789 No a co z Wieniawskim i Lutoslawskim?

  • i used to only know the name chopin and nothing else till i played eternal sonata 2 years ago.Probably the best game i played in ps3 so far.Very well made rpg and kinda educative.I am glad i learned more things for one of the worlds best composers ever and heard some pieces like this one...and i am a guy who listens to rock n metal so i guess Chopin was really something!!

  • some people like Bach, others are more naturally inclined to Beethoven, Mozart and Rachmaninoff are fine and good; however Chopin holds my heart.

  • Awesome how many people played Eternal Sonata and went on youtube to find this song :)

  • @dop388 I actually got into him through that game. Never finished the game, but the music remains apart of my life.

  • @dop388 thats how i found it. lovely music. all thanks to a game that i still own thanks to the soundtrack. nothing quite like it.

  • 41 people must be deaf..

  • @squishy54645 Or just unhappy and soulless.

  • @ifluvinguiswrong No. They just do not know good compositions when they hear it.

  • I stopped playing piano about 2 years ago.. I think im gonna star playing again lol

  • i love you Nonna, how you played this so passionately when i was a child. I miss you, see you again someday xx

  • this song alone is what makes frederic francois chopin the greatest musician who ever lived. it's so sad that this type of MUSIC is not heard in the mainstream. unless it's a 20 second clip of some shitty hyundai

  • It's strange the think that there are people out there that could write something like this in this day and age, but because no one writes music anymore, they will go on with their lives not writing wonders of the world.

  • The epicness in this music is too damn high there are no words to describe it..

  • @MetalAge19

I think thats why its called music - real music that is... :o)

  • I love Eternal Sonata! It was a fantastic game, and it introduced me to Chopin and his beautiful music.

  • "Greatness"

  • sit here and listen and play but were did it come from

  • @witchfeetDebbie A piano I'm guessing

  • Halo 3 Believe ad brought me here

  • It happens to be raining where I am, so this is perfect. Thank you for posting this!

  • Escuchando esto me pregunto ¿qué ha pasado con la música hoy en día? Esto es muy bonito.

  • This is one of Chopin's easier pieces. Any casual pianists should pick this one up; it's SO FUN to play!

  • @KingApeiron

This is an incredibly misleading statement. The subtlety and emotive presence felt what listening to an interpretation by a master pianist is utterly incomparable to flat, awkward notes played by an amateur.

  • @xenteko Couldn't agree more....it's easy to walk through the notes and basic dynamics, but hard to push the emotions through.

  • Love the song but I just can't get into it hearing the occasional creaks and sniffles.

  • You know what goes really good with this? Rainy mood.

  • this is in C#major is it not? :P

  • @Jeffo787 Technically D flat major, though the dark middle section is C# minor

  • Only educated people enjoy this song for what it is worth.

  • faceoff brought me here.

  • Do you know who played this?

  • I feel strange listening to classical music as I play Saint's Row 3. I'd say conflicted, but it feels so right.

  • @Grimdeath0001 The Thieving Magpie by Rossini during a killing spree :D

I have my character looking like Alex from a clockwork orange just to suit that song.

  • Dis Choppin' guy ain't bad, yo!

  • @TheBlackStar999 It's Chopìn. Pronounced "Sho-Pan".

  • @Satur1n I am aware of that. I was being silly.

  • @TheBlackStar999

You never lie Black Star. Are you a fan of Mos Def and Talib Kwali?

  • @pjlove76 No, I don't really listen to them. I'm more in Rammstein, Interpol, and any kind of dance music with a good beat. I'm what Richard Pryor would call a :"Cracka'-ass Saltine muthaf**ka". In other words, I'm White.

You probably don't want to be my friend now, so goodbye. Sorry If I let you down.

  • @TheBlackStar999 dis choppin guy is a genius yo!

  • @TheBlackStar999 excuse me? Do not dare to talk this way here!

  • @MSW1997 Oh please, you have no right to tell that person how they should talk. They're enjoying the music, and you're judging so lighten up a bit!

  • @MSW1997 You are more than welcome to try and stop me, but the results will not be in your favor.

  • @TheBlackStar999 frickin' funny comment

  • chopin would have seen world was heading towards chaos and people would need such beautiful things just to really live than justg exist

  • Halo 3...

  • @wtfPR00 halo is a game. This music is used on a trailer of the same, if you search "Believe halo" you will find it, I recommend it ;D

  • The first notes of the piece are very much like Mehul's Song of Victory, a popular anthem in France during Napoleonic wars (and subsequently during WW1) Always seemed to me this was Chopin's own ironic "song of defeat".

  • @lilsquirt1995 The fact that it was used in it, that's all.

  • @wtfPR00 Isn't that what angels have above their heads?

  • I forgot to say that this is also my favourite interpretation that I have yet heard. Bravo to the pianist.

  • I absolutely adore this piece. Such a beautifully subtle emotional journey.

  • Oh no, definitely raindrops.

  • more like sleet.

  • these dont sound like rain drops

  • There's a chief in all of us.

  • The love he put into this is priceless :D

  • @carpharm

    hey /mu/

  • @carpharm Retard

  • i thought ich liebe dich meant I love dicks. tbh.

  • Thank you Eternal Sonata for bring me back to Chopin.

  • @Abyisto1 This is the worst comment I ever heard in my life

  • Comment removed

  • Ok, I am a big Halo fan myself, but can we all just appreciate a brilliant piece of Classical music?

  • Chopins stuff has been appearing in video games a lot recently hasn't it?

  • Ever look at the complete list of this gentleman? It will make you forget about HALO, which I love, by the way. This is a dude who was very serious. If you make that kind of commitment in your life, you might be great too. HALO?? Come on!?! You shitty youngsters!!! Grow up!

  • I love this song, except for 2:28-2:42; that part I hate. If that part didn't exist, I would be totally in love with this song.

  • @TheBipolarBroom thats the fucking best bit showing the contrast and how the rain is likely to be falling harder now than before

  • @bummamubba5 Well excuse me for having my own opinion!

  • @TheBipolarBroom haha that's the best part to me. lol

  • @TheBipolarBroom I love that part... it's pure energy!

  • @TheBipolarBroom I think that that part of the piece is the best, as it shows the beautiful fluctuality of what rain is really like, quite and gentle, and then all over the place, and coming down in massive bucketloads. But I'm not going to stop you having your own opinion, we are all entitled to one, so just enjoy some more good music =)

  • @TheBipolarBroom Actually it doesn't annoy me but I know what you mean with Chopin;there's a section in his Tristesse which seems incongruous with the start and end of the piece.

  • @MrFernandoPJR I ask myself the same thing... My dad wants me to play this at his funeral

  • Eternal Sonata.

    Thats all you should know.

  • why did i stop learning this song?

  • Every loud note he plays around 3:30 I just say "Halo halo halo halo" to the beat. Because fuck you

  • one of my great great grandmothers on my mothers side was married to Chopin

  • @smokeycoffin1 Umm, I don't believe Frederyk Chopin had a wife. (excuse my spelling of fredrick, Frederyk is just the Polish way.

  • @MrMattczubinski oh no well not wife but she was said to be the love of his life

  • i very much like this song

  • I dont give a Damn about Halo!!

    Thumbs up you don't eather!

  • I originally heard this on the Halo trailer, then a year later my boyfriend introduced me to it, couldn't remember where I heard it from, but then I started listening to more and not just because it was from a single trailer. Then I learned of Eternal Sonata, which is a very beautiful game which even taught me much about Chopin. If this music is to represent any game, it'd be that, not Halo.

  • Halo.

    *Coolface*

  • fantasticno....

  • I am a very big Halo fan, but I have listened to Chopin for years.

this is one of my favorite pieces of all time!

  • Halo brought me here. Master chief is a legend.

  • @MrBeliever04 Can't tell if just stupid, or just failed attempt at trolling?

  • Halo "Believe" Ad Campaign Music:

    1:44-4:05 : ]

  • i has many goooses up my arm because this beutiful piece of art :D

  • @mentalmax099 That must be very difficult keeping so many gooses balanced on one arm.

  • Ive finnished my GCSE's and i stil listen to this, purely because Chopin as a fucking legend for making this inspiring piece of perfection! x

  • I LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!

  • Nothing as much as great as chopins though, he is a composing mastermind

  • This is the set piece that inspired my composition In music gcse

  • All I can think about when I hear this is the Halo 3 "Believe" campaign. I love this piece.

  • This piece is so damn powerful

  • good piece. i felt like whoever played this one rushed a few bars when playing it.

  • @tmac9938 I expect you would of played it more subtlety then? Please direct to the link of your version ?

  • @MybRainIsBroken32 why so defensive? did i say the person sucked? or did i offer an opinion? settle down.

  • Incredible....

  • omg remember that time in halo when you shot a grunt in the head and it made a stupid noise?

  • I am in love with Chopin

  • This is absolutely my favorite Chopin song. I feel so relaxed when listening to it :)

  • lol how it says they edited the video. mate, you put one picture to music... AND you even left like a 3 minute silence at the end....

  • i may be imagining it, but i swear i can someone sniffing in the background of this song

  • @TheSammypickle I hear it too. I think it might be the pianist breathing.

  • Halo truly annoys me to no end. If a video game will direct people to the lovely compositions of Chopin, that's great, but kindly do not spam the comments with Halo references. It's rather annoying.

  • @14GloryofRome14 I'm not here from Halo, i'm here from GCSE music ;) but you don't have to look at the comments =)

  • @Myawakenings I'm here for GCSE music too ;)

  • @applethedoodle Same! :)

  • @14GloryofRome14

It's youtube, we just have to deal with it. I'm sure that all the GNR, Buckethead, Slash, and Bumblefoot fans are sick of the comparisons on the comments boards by now, but it's just something they have to deal with. speaking of Bumblefoot, he made a killer cover of Fantasy Impromptu. I encourage everybody here to check it out.

  • @14GloryofRome14 Wait, what the heck does this song have to do with a video game?!

  • @lilsquirt1995 this song was used in one of the Halo 3 trailers -Believe

  • @lilsquirt1995 It was used in a halo advertisement.

  • @lilsquirt1995 It's not a song

  • @lilsquirt1995 Eternal Sonata was a rather generic JRPG in which you venture inside the mind of chopin as he lies on his deathbed.

That and it's awesome. I've yet to find another game in which you can play as a world-renown classical composer that slaughters monsters with a conductor's baton.

  • Comment removed

  • @lilsquirt1995 It has to do with two videogames, actually. On the one hand, it was used in a Halo's trailer. On the other hand, there is an RPG videogame about Chopin's last hours, taking place in his dreams, called Eternal Sonata, where many songs by Chopin are used, in the soundtrack.

  • @lilsquirt1995 its on the Halo 3 Believe comercial

  • @HappyDude117xP great comercial

  • @lilsquirt1995

It was a game about Chopin, realy awesome.

Look it up on Wikipedia "Eternal Sonata"

  • @lilsquirt1995 it was used in an ad

  • @14GloryofRome14 But you can say that about allot of things, many things are related in ways, mostly in films for example; If this piece of music was in a prestigious film then I doubt the comments would be as annoying to you, but I can't say what will and what wont annoy you haha. I think if something can draw people to good music it doesn't matter, as long as everyone enjoys it - as you said.

  • @thejames9393

You sir, had posed a great point

  • @14GloryofRome14 what are you talking about? "video game"?

  • @14GloryofRome14 redundant

  • 2:27

    Believe

  • I remember this from the Halo 3 trailer.

  • am studying this for music gcse , its lovely but ou teacher makes it so boring ! i felt slepy after listening to this

  • I love chopin! I listen to his music before my classes to get my brain going.

  • This is simply beautiful. This comes from a metalhead, a real one.

  • most pleasant, thanks,

  • Found this through an anime : )

    Well worth it...
